Note: That is not a #11 beside the Bison's name. It is actually two #1's. :twocents:

Hate to pick on the plucky underdog, especially coming off the big win at UNI, but Lehigh is 1-9 against the CAA in the last 9 years, and has lost each of its last 5 games against CAA teams by 3 TDs. Granted, those last 5 were all against playoff teams, but we're talking about 13th in the nation, ahead of teams getting first place votes. Is this year going to be 3 TDs better?

I don't know, but Lafayette played them real close last year, so expect a real barn burner in the spotlight game against NDSU. :coffee:

Lafayette should be looking a lot like UNI. Lehigh, who handily defeated UNI on its home field sure got a lot of respect for that victory from the pollsters so it only stands to reason that Lafayette, a team Lehigh had all kinds of problems with the week before the big UNI win, will be just as competitive as highly ranked UNI. The spotlight game, as you call it, will be televised back east, so its no problem if you want to see it.

You have to realize that Lehigh just emerged from their worst 3-4 year run in 40+ years. Given that and the level of competition you get some ugly results. I really think the UNH game this year at Goodman will be a great one. Lehigh went up to Durham last year without Lum and never had a chance. Things will be different this year.

From 1998-2005 Lehigh had some great battles with the best of the CAA/A10. The '98 Umass and '04 JMU playoff games were epic. Both of those teams went on to win the national title. When Lehigh is good, they can be really good. Watch out for Colgate this year too. This is the best the PL has been in 6 or 7 years.

Using your logic, Missouri State should be a real force this year in the MFVC.

All things being equal that would be the expectation, but you really didnt think it out. MSU lacks Lafayettes Tradition and Experience, especially at QB. They are also coming off a disappoiting season for them and have motivation.

Well, if I ever start to "think it out" like you do, somebody just put a fucking bullet in me and put me out of my misery.

Hmmm...that's a new definition of "thinking"...is that like when they started using "bad" to mean "good"?

Don't sweat this Z. Jabber's been setting up this "Lafayette is as good as UNI" thing for several months now. You see, that way when the bizon beat Lafayette in a few weeks, he can have his "moral victory" over UNI, since he and the bizon have not yet experienced the real thing.

Just let him have this one thing.

Often, under close examination, broad statements are proven wrong. The absurd comparison AzGrizzFan blurted out is certainly a case in point. The devil is in the details has never been more true. :ugeek:
