UNI announces games with both Iowa and Wisconsin for 2012, and a home/home series with Northern Colorado in '13/'14.
Could be a tough year next season, but it should be fun.

UNI should get $1MM total for those two.

Sure wish Weber and UNI would play once and a while, I'd like to see how Weber compares to UNI or any of the MVC teams for that matter.

So basically to make the FCS playoffs in 2012 UNI will need to win their league...
No, seriously that's cool - the Iowa game I'm imagining is huge for you guys, I'd love to see UD play Penn State one year.

Hasn't been a problem for them lately.

If I'm not mistaken, UNI has made the FCS playoffs 15 times, and only ONE of those playoff berths was as an at-large. And even in that year, we were co-champs of the league. All 14 other appearances came as the auto-bid from the league.
Its pretty strange that it has worked out that way so often.

assuming that they fill their last spot with a "lower level" FCS opponent, and they win that, and assuming that they lose both Big 10 games (which while not a certainty, is the most probable result), then they could very likely snag an at-large if they finished second or third in the MVFC, with 6 or 7 conference wins.
of course, if UNI resorts to buying a D2 game to complete the schedule just to get a 5th home game, then they would have very little room for error in the conference.

Somehow or another the rumor of UNI scheduling a game with App State in 2012 popped up on PantherNation,
but I personally don't see that happening.
Though that would be one heck of a challenging non-conference schedule for a year: Iowa, Wisconsin, App State.

And App State already has Montana on their 2012 schedule (at the Rock).

I'm just glad we're friends now!
I am ashamed of my prior behavior.
And really looking forward to the future.

I'd love to see UD play Penn State one year.
Last year would have set up some Devlin drama. UD had a great defense, as well. PSU had Picsix McGlon.
This year...not so much. Delaware is going to lose several conference games IMO.

From the sound of it Wisconsin is paying $450K for this game, plus the buyout of the SUU game for next years final game of the home and home, which would be played in Utah.
So Thunnderbird fans....I'm sorry.

So UNI is fucking over SUU - really nice.
I hope UNI gets steam-rolled, and goes 0-11 next year.
Sorry Clenz - nothing personal.
UNI should at least move this year's SUU game to Cedar City.

SUU and UNI agreed to the buyout clause....UNI found the money to pay SUU for the game. That's the risk you take by taking the second game of a home and home. This is the reason UNI almost exclusively does home and homes where they get the first game. Not because they have the intention of buying it out, because the money is never there for UNI to do it, but so it doesn't happen to them. UNI has honored every other game with SUU they have set up ( 3 or 4 over the last decade)
What's your problem with that?

It's also not like this happened a month or two before the season. There is 14 months before that game was schedule to take place, and probably 10 months to find a game.

Huh? That's bullshit. A program like SUU is freaking lucky to even get a program like UNI to come out and play a game on their field in the first place. (which UNI has already done) They are getting paid off for the game anyway so what does it matter?
Pretty easy decision if you are UNI. Get paid a bunch of money to go play a televised game against a B10 team, or spend a bunch of your own cash to go out to buttfuck, Utah and play a game in front of 2K people.

Also, FWIW, I would rather play SUU.
Yes, right now that 450k pay day is nice, and really it's more than that. Wisconsin is paying UNI 450k, plus the buyout for the SUU game (not sure what that is), and UNI's travel cost will go from a budget of 100k (which is what it was for the SUU trip) to probably less than half of that.
With all of that said, next year UNI will be starting a brand new QB who, barring a serious injury to Rennie this year, will be a rFr (who I think it will be) or a rSo, neither of whom will have saw any real action (none in the case of the freshman). On top of that UNI will be starting 2 or 3 new offensive lineman, UNI will also be playing 3 or 4 rSo WR's on offense. Then on defense there will be 3 or 4 new defensive lineman, 2 or 3 new linebackers, and a couple new secondary players.
Keep in mind this will be the opening game of 2012, at Camp Randal (which is a daunting place to play for the vast majority of B10 teams). Then a week or two after that this same team will be headed to Iowa City.
Given all of that, I just hope UNI can keep it closer than Austin Peay did last year.

It is very difficult to get home games against FCS teams out west. This will screw over SUU next year.

jesus you are an arrogant bastard of the JBB/lakes variety.
SUU will be a member of the best FCS conference next year - far better than the podunk MVFC.
