Somehow two weeks ago MSU beat a decent NAU team NDSU beat a winless team and NDSU jumped MSU in the polls. I suppose they are the new #1?

Being undefeated with an FBS win will do that for you.

I think NDSU and Montana St. will be 1-2 slitting a lot of first place votes. 3-10 should get a good shake up too. Towson into the top 5????

I think Maine is still ahead Towson at this point, of course we'll see who's better next Saturday in Orono.

NDSU's case was helped with Minnesota beating Iowa today (and, no, I'm not going to argues that somehow this means Minnesota is any good - but they did pick up a B1G win)

There is no doubt in my mind that North Dakota is #1, and I will definitely be voting for them.

I'm expecting UND to get a few #1 votes. However I have SHSU at #1.

Not if the score holds up after half time - UD up by 6. And they are playing like they should have been all year.

I'm guessing App State will leapfrog MSU for 2nd. That's not what I'd vote for, but I'm guessing that's what will happen.

Being undefeated with an FBS win will do that for you.
That would include SHSU, no?

I wanted to vote MSU #1, but it seems that NDSU's win over the now-former #1 team in my poll has more weight than MSU's expected blowout of one of the two worst teams in the Big Sky.

I think NDSU is the #1 team in the country even though I don't know too much about them. FBS, even better a BCS win and undefeated? Does any other team have that sort of resume right now?

ODU into the top 10?! :o

Only if SHSU doesn't get embarrassed in the playoffs like SFA did last year. The Southland has a crappy record when playing anyone else but patsies. They need to prove themselves before given the keys to the Caddy.

No, no one else has those two things on their resume.

No one else has the fortune to play MInn Gophers.

Are you really hanging your hat on that?

 No I totally agree with you. I'm not saying they are good. I just answered his question with the facts, and those are the facts. He didn't ask for a QUALITY BCS team, just a BCS team ;)

ah, I see now we're basing the current years poll on past performance of a conference and not the team itself. I get it.
What an idiot. :rule:

Look, I know SFA sucked in the playoffs. I tried - for 2 years - to tell people they weren't worthy of the high ranking; despite their record. But it was what it was. They were all pass happy and nothing else and teams that could defend against that could beat them. Hell, we went 4-7 and beat them (and the year before that).
We had 1 good year in the playoffs (TXST that is). I knew we wouldn't get past Montana in '08 - because the coaching staff sucked eggs.
SAM is a different animal and should, at least, be in the mix.(that was my point)

Kudos to NDSU. They're having a hell of a year but to totally exclude SAM from consideration is bias (of a sort)

I can't even believe I'm defending SAM, cause I hate them.
(and they're going to wipe us up and down the field)

Total offense
SAM - #25
NDSU - #66

Total Defense -
SAM - #2
NDSU - #10

NDSU and SAM played different schedules, so at least I can't compare the teams solely by total offense and total defense. In addition, I am putting SAM #1 because of their preformance this season, no close FCS games and the fact that they dominated SFA more convincingly than UNI.
