True Freshman.
25 TDs.
Well over 1200 yards after tonights 23 for 261.
MF'er didn't even play in the first game because we wanted to RS him.

He looked the part in Orono; a great looking runner with a very solid center of gravity. Towsen's O-Line looked pretty good too, they shoved Maine around all game.

Didn't impress me in the loss to Delaware.

Don't you have a CAA is down thread to start somewhere?
If I had my old phone I would have texted you tonight. This new one sucks. But tonights game was F'ing ridiculous. I thought about inviting you up. Had field passes too.

Andy-
Congrats on the playoff berth - for all the crap years you've gone thru you deserve it.
The kid West is a great back - he should win that Rice award for the Fr of the year.

BillK I'm not falling for it. You are setting me up for some kind of trap with your compliments.
..It is a great thing to have to admit, I no longer played for the best Towson team. This year proved it. Couldn't be prouder.

Kudos to Towson's offensive line. On West's first touchdown I'm not sure that he was touched on a run literally straight up the middle. There were several other runs where he'd get well past the line of scrimmage before he got touched. On his 69-yard TD run in the second quarter, he got past the line of scrimmage and simply accelerated past the secondary. A bruising, speedy back with such a great offensive line is a good combination for December football.

Below is the CAAZone.com's coverage of the game. The second link contains five pages of photos from the game.
For New Hampshire fans (and other CAA fans) - is the stadium near the airport? I'm considering attending the game against Maine but it's too far to drive. I'm curious of the logistics of flying to attend the game. Thank you.

CAA Rushing Leaders (CAA games only):
RUSHING Team Cl G Att Yds Avg TD Long Yds/G

1. Terrance West....... TOWS FR 7 142 1056 7.4 22 72 150.9
2. Jonathan Grimes..... W&M SR 7 190 991 5.2 8 87 141.6

*D Scott for JMU is listed as playing in 7 games. He DNP vs Maine after separating his shoulder 1st half vs UR. So his 629 has come in 6 CAA games. Should read 105 per game avg, which would put him 5th instead of 6th....
I would say 1st team All CAA is West, Grimes, and if they have 3 RBs, Pierce. 2nd team Hernandez, Brown. 3rd team the 2 JMU RBs Scott & Anderson.
West, Grimes, and Pierce should get some 2nd Team, 3rd Team, Honorable mention AA among the 5-6 AA teams.
West and Pierce should be pre season Payton candidates next yr.

He missed the first game, so Payton Award isn't going to make it for T-West. I say he has nearly locked up the Rice award this year. The scariest thing (for the rest of the CAA) is that he and the O Line are young. They can only get better (if they stay healthy).

PUHLEEZE. West won't even be the CAA Freshman of the Year.

If it was any other year, I would say your very good Freshman QB would be a lock for it. I think T-West is the leading candidate for CAA Freshman of the year and the Jerry Rice Award. I don't think he wins the Payton Award, but there are still a couple more weeks (at least) before the ballot is released because it isn't given out until January 6th.

Meh, I just like to give Andy crap. West is certainly deserving. But it does beg the question of what position is more demanding. While the physical pounding is more intense for running backs, they don't have the mental demands that a QB has.

Mental note to all the Towson CAAzonies coming over here. Thin skin is for AGS, CS is for those who can take it and dish it out.
Whining is not allowed, and enforced by your fellow fans.
