Good luck Albany & Stony Brook

It was nice of the Selection Committee to match a NEC with a BigSouth team. At least one will get a win. Could be the only playoff win either conference ever gets. As the winner plays SHSU, I doubt either will win two. I wish Albany & Stony Brook the best, but you're matched up to be cannon fodder. I will be cheering for either one of you in Texas.
I don't object to teams from the weaker FCS conferences getting an invite to the playoffs. I object to having 12 byes the first week of the playoffs. I know some of the teams have trouble filling seats that first weekend, but most sites are up for bid. I realize some folks don't have a stadium that allows them to match a bid from a larger stadium. Maybe sites should be decided by a coin toss instead by dollars. But then the NCAA wouldn't get the money they're used to. Hopefully they made enough from their ESPN deal. The lousy a_holes.
But this year is no different than most. Bubble teams are rightfullly disappointed. You have Duquesne and Drake with 7 conference wins. Several other teams with 7 D-I wins. These teams are left at home because the NCAA doesn't want to expand the playoffs too fast? Same thing happened in the 80's when we went from 4 to 8 to 12 and finally 16. Anyone who can read a playoff/tournament bracket can see that 20 makes no sense. Any byes in a football playoff is unfair and Unamerican. To leave deserving teams at home makes no sense. To make me miss Thanksgiving at my brother's in Missoula, because the Griz don't play that weekend is bad enough.
It is only a matter of time until we go to 32 teams in the playoffs. Once we expanded past 16, 32 is the only sensible choice. 12 byes is assinine. A weekend with no FCS football means I'll have to talk to my wife. OUCH.
