That didn't take long. Give up over 600 yards to GaSouthern and heads roll.

“Looking at our defense, I feel it is a very talented group, but we underachieved,” said Wilder, who broke the news to his team at 2:30. “We were 104th in the FCS in pass defense and we allowed 27.7 points per game. We gave up a lot of points and had some breakdowns in clutch defensive situations this year.”

I like the way this guy works. Hold people accountable, then "see ya" when they fail. It's refreshing.

Since when was Kieta Malloy a two-way player?? He was a heckuva WR but I never remember him playing defense.

That's Old Dominion talk that means "He knows what he is doing on defense".

...and senior Keita Malloy (Washington, D.C.) proved to be one of the most versatile performers ever at Delaware, playing regularly at spread end, cornerback, punt returner, kick returner and holder...

I remember him as a receiver and returner, but not as a DB as well. Apparently our brains have fogged up in the past 20 years.

Heck, you knew ODU's defense was a sieve when UD's backup QB threw for more than 300 yards on ODU and wasn't pressured all day. I'm not sure how a new coach will do - the secondary was fast but didn't seem to be very good and the good part of the D, the front 7, graduates 4 starters, including 3 on the defensive line. Looks like more shootouts in the future.

I have been saying for three years that our middle linebackers and safeties were not very good. That, along with the defensive calls, provided a bad combination.

But, but, but... didn't you get the memo? ODU will only get better every single year until they eventually move up and go undefeated in the SEC every year until they get banned from college football for not giving the other teams a chance.

You are correct. That's what the memo said.

I hear they plan to skip applying for a BCS conference and go straight to the NFL...

Well, they have to keep pace with Georgia State.

Except we actually win games.

Laugh now Poultry Pukes. Remember, you have to come south next year. We'll be waiting.......with barbeque sauce.

That guy is a prick. The head coach I mean.
Obviously ODU has to be happy with him for doing as well as he did in the CAA with a new program and making the playoffs. But WHAT a prick.

It was for the best. We haven't really seen much of an improvement in defense these last three years and that's not acceptable if ODU wants to win National Championships. Good luck to Coach Rondeua and thanks for helping get this program off the ground.

And you guys know I love ya'll, but do a few changes to the defensive staff at ODU really earn the distinction of being brought up in a discussion board for the whole of FCS fandom?
Not trying to act like I live in a trash can here, but these leftovers were meant for the ODU message boards, particularly with the playoffs still in full swing.

And that's not even fair, because poaching lions isn't legal in most nations. Plus the blue and gray kind of lion, particularly those that walk around with crowns on, are so rare. You'd definitely go to hell if you put barbeque sauce on one of them.

and whats your source for believing that? IMO, I think anybody who knows the guy personally or has met the guy have a different opinion. Please, don't let two outbursts over the course of a 13-game season affect your opinion about a man....every coach has those moments....if not find me one who hasn't.
FWIW, Rondeau was the linebackers coach and Dodson was one of the secondary coaches....hmmmmmmm...interesting....

Ahhh yes, it just wouldn't be a thread about old dominion football without a little group of Delaware b.tches posting about how much "odu sucks" in it.
EVERY SINGLE F.CKING THREAD. I've never seen anything like it. Utterly pathetic. They are scared sh.tless of us, it's so blatantly obvious......I mean, why else would they need to post in evety odu thread? Because they aren't scared? Because they think we give a flying rat sh.t what they think of us??
Of course not. They are just trying to convince themselves that we won't soon be lapping them. We already passed them in the standings in our first freaking year. Now that we might actually have a semi coherent defensive coordinator?????
Watch out. Oh wait, I'm sure you'll just predict that we won't win a caa game again this year. Idiots. Any of you stupid little women wanna sack up and bet whether a. Odu or Delaware wins our game next year or b. Who finishes ahead of the other team in the standings.
What do you say sweethearts? Or are you just gonna keep acting like the little b.tches we've all come to know Delaware fans as? With a real defensive coordinator next year, odu is going to be even more dangerous than we were this past year, and we nearly won the freaking caa and took gsu to the wire. Can't wait for next year with a real defense. So any of you c.ckf.gs gonna take the bet?

Especially those lions that wear shirts and no pants.

Meh. It took 13 games to prove to you that our offense was pretty good, after being told that we won't be able to move the ball on CAA caliber defenses. We heard all year that our defense is not top echelon. We were certainly in agreement with that. And now there is proof that the head coach believed it as well. Just passing on the confirmation, that's all.
