Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
Asa Jackson, Ryan Steed, Brian Quick, Matt Veldman, Justin Bethel, Emil Igwenagu, and Corey White are all rated higher by scouts than the media seems to have them right now.
Quick is the consensus No. 1 from the scouts I have talked with so far and the others are all headed to the combine, with the exception of Veldman. And I expect Veldman to get a late invite.

Hey don't leave out Jackson St QB Casey Therriault or Grambling St DE/OLB Christian Anthony he looks like the second coming of Michael Strahan but that depends on his health.89Hen wrote:SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Here is a list of guys, by school, who are worth looking out for as all-star games and the draft approaches:

Anthony came out last year and Therriault is not going to get drafted. He's a secondary league prospect. He might get in a camp but I don't see him as a guy who makes a team.dal4018 wrote:Hey don't leave out Jackson St QB Casey Therriault or Grambling St DE/OLB Christian Anthony he looks like the second coming of Michael Strahan but that depends on his health.89Hen wrote:

Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
I thought Anthony red-shirted because of a medical condition that was mentioned and I still think Therriault could be a 6th or 7th round pick.Too bad that there's no NFL Europe he could go there and develop his skills a la Kurt Wariner.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Anthony came out last year and Therriault is not going to get drafted. Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
I wouldn’t be shocked to see Nash picked in a late round but he is more likely to be a FA pick up if anything.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Here is a list of guys, by school, who are worth looking out for as all-star games and the draft approaches:

Deadder has had health issues the past couple seasons. I don’t think he will get drafted.
At “280” pounds Doverspike is undersized for an NFL offensive lineman. Maybe he tries DE.
Pretty cool these guys are even on the list though.

That size on Doverspike is from last spring. He may be bigger now. All 3 of them are free agents on my board right now.SDHornet wrote:I wouldn’t be shocked to see Nash picked in a late round but he is more likely to be a FA pick up if anything.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Here is a list of guys, by school, who are worth looking out for as all-star games and the draft approaches:

He played 4 years and took a redshirt year. It just seems like forever because he played in the Michigan game and then was redshirted.AZGrizFan wrote:Was he on the SEVEN YEAR plan at ASU?SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:Asa Jackson, Ryan Steed, Brian Quick, Matt Veldman, Justin Bethel, Emil Igwenagu, and Corey White are all rated higher by scouts than the media seems to have them right now.

Re: FCS Players to watch as draft nears
Was just REALLY wierd to see him in the Michigan game, then in the 2009 playoff game in Missoula to only be a sophomore...dude just was one of those players who seemed to be around for-EVER.SmallCollegeFBFan wrote:He played 4 years and took a redshirt year. I did not see Bo Levi Mitchell anywhere. Ouch.

Are you hearing anything about Matt Bevins? A senior season injury obviously dropped his stock but he still has some incredible numbers.

Thanks for posting that SCFBF... good to see you over here again, it's been a while.
This isn't really FCS related, but where do you see QB Russell Wilson getting drafted? He put up some pretty incredible numbers this year and over his career, what's your assessment of him as an NFL QB?

Opperud, Montana tackle? I think he's better than Burton.

Tryouts at best right now. SIU was down this year. Jewel Hampton is the best prospect and I have him as a free agent.houndawg wrote:OLs Boemer and Pickard from SIU?
