Nice 6-5 season this year. EWU will be even worse in '12.
Re: BREAKING: NDSUs BOHL HIRED AS NEW COACH AT NEW MEXICO ST
You must have either a very short or very selective memory. North Dakota State was a mediocre 6-5 in 2008......and a pathetic 3-8 in 2009. Two years later they were competing for a NC. But perhaps everyone should have written them off in 2009?Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:BlackFalkin wrote:

And anyway, we hear the above comments from the Montana folks every year.
We most likely won't be as productive on offense (at least through the air), but our defense will be very good, as will our running game. If you followed what we had to deal with in regard to injuries this season, it's hard to imagine anything remotely that unlucky happening again next year. And because we lost so many players for the season early on, a lot of younger guys stepped up and got valuable playing time. If you look at recent history, we've done pretty well after having a "down" year. I see us as a 7-4 to 8-3 type team, depending on what happens with the QB situation. Baldwin has never had a losing season since taking over as HC in 2008.
2003 - 6-5
2004 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2005 - 7-5 (playoffs)
2006 - 3-8
2007 - 9-4 (playoffs)
2008 - 6-5 (2 of the losses were to Colorado and Texas Tech...)
2009 - 8-4 (playoffs)
2010 - 13-2 (playoffs)
2011 - 6-5

NDSU had a great season this year, just like EWU did last season, so enjoy it. Your program earned it and deserves all the credit in the world.WYOBISONMAN wrote:Kinda suck sitting at home this year and not even making the playoffs.....huh.....BlackFalkin wrote:

That said, I will wager that NDSU does not make it to the title game in 2012. Getting to the top is a lot easier than staying there, and NDSU has a very difficult schedule next year.

With the players we have coming back next year, the Bison have a very good chance on returning to the NC game. I'm pretty sure we will not have a 6-5 season next year.
This Bison team also had plenty of injuries this year. Young guys stepped up and played well.

You are absolutely right. It is very tough to make it back to the title game. I think the Bison will be in the chase, but it would be damn presumptious for a fan to claim the Bison will be in the title game next year. And no one knows if, when, and where the injury bug will bite. (I was just trying to give you a little shit with that last post... ......)EWURanger wrote:NDSU had a great season this year, just like EWU did last season, so enjoy it. The Grizzled Gladiators of Montana have been penciled in by three of the most respected FCS prognosticators as virtual locks for the NC. Who they beat in the Championship Game has been the subject of some wildly entertaining speculation, however. The front-runner for National Bridesmaid appears to be Villanova, but App St., James Madison and Sam Houston have been mentioned as well.
