Big Sky announces TV deal

Sucks for football fans in Montana because now the Griz and Cats won't be on the local networks every weekend (although the locals have the option of picking up any games that Root doesn't broadcast). But this kicks ass for those of us living out of state. No more watching a crappy ass Big Sky TV feed.

More on the deal from Fritz Neighbor of the Missoulian. He says that Root has until March to pick which games they want to broadcast:

Nice work! The MVFC needs to do something like this as well, but they probably won't.

With that deal the Sky is leagues ahead of the Mo Valley. Our ESPN 3 deal is horse shit.

This is a solid deal for the BSC.

All games not on Root will still be on bigskytv.

Who this really seems to eliminate is Altitude.

And with UND's contract with Fox College Sports, BSC games will be all over the dish. :thumb:

Too bad they don't have deal like the SWAC/MEAC have with ESPN.

Notice that there is not a single game on this schedule that doesn't include either the Griz or the Cats. Wise move, Roots :thumb: .

As a Griz fan/alum living out of state, this is awesome...seven games I'll be able to watch in HD instead of on a crappy ass Big Sky TV online feed.

I wish the North Dakota at Montana State game was on Roots...that way I can see it, I intend on being at the Montana at UND game. Looks like a good tv schedule.

While it's true I'll be able to watch 7 games in the comfort of my home, that's 4 games that I WON'T be able to watch at ALL, and in the past I'd been able to watch all 11 games by going down to the local pub that plays all the Griz games...which were in HD last year after the switch by KPAX. This is a step BACKWARDS AFAIAC.

A local sports bar will most likely have the Root channel.

Root? never heard of it.

i already pay $93/month on dish, no reason to pay $12 more for a sports package to get "roots"

wasnt that a slave movie with oprah peeing?

It's not "Roots"...it's Root. As always, thanks for your input.
