When: September 8, 2012 Time TBA
Where: Fort Collins Colorado, Hughes Stadium, capacity 32,500

The Rams do not have their 2012-2013 schedule posted. NDSU has this game listed as Sept 8, 2012 @ Fort Collins, Time TBA.
Here is a quick look at the CSU Rams:

They play in the Mountain West. Tied for last place in 2011 with UNLV and New Mexico all 1-6.

3-9 overall record with a 63-13 loss to Boise State.

Overall impression: decent passing and rushing attacks can overwhelm a weaker opponent especially on the ground. Weak defense, vulnerable to the run. Turn overs have been a problem.

They beat Northern Colorado 33-14. Good game against Wyoming too, but lost 22-19. Impressive 263 yds on the ground but TOs killed the rams with 3 Ints.

What is the over/under on how many fans NDSU will bring to the game? I say 35,000.

The Bison have a very good chance of winning this game. With all of the starters that are returning from this year's team, the Bison will be tough to beat in '12.

Except the most important one of all, your DC. And you lost McNorton and some OL. And CSU is being taken over by the OC who engineered two BCS National Championships in three years.

CSU by a mile. Count it! :thumb: :coffee:

Well, if you say so. I am pretty sure he claims EWU, though, since he is an alum, played Qb, and was an assistant coach there. Nice try, though. ;)

http://maps.google.com/maps?client=safa ... d=0CBkQ_BI

that map (if you are able to tune it in) shows you the motels around the stadium. Nothing is really close, 3 miles or so. Thats a nice wakable distance especially if its an afternoon game, which I prefer.

The Bed and breakfast houses are starting at $125/night. There is a $99 dollar room at one of them but the bathroom is down a floor by the back stairway. Good motels $135 range. Down from there to $89, so all the montana fans will probably have to sleep in their charter bus.

Above are more connections shilling todays rate. You may find when you follow the links prices will be higher for game dates.

I would encourage you to book now if you are planning to go. There arent that many hotels in the area and one of the B&B Prime Suites is already booked. :coffee:
Look at the BSC fans arguing over scraps!

I would expect this kind of response from you. Our new DC, Klieman, was UNI's DC for 7 years and they had nationally ranked defense's under his tenure. Plus in a local interview he said the defensive philosophy and schemes will not change. So to me, a fan that follows this team, our defense will not lose a beat next year. In fact, it could even be better. McNorton was a good back but Ojuri is better RB for our offense. The 2 OL will be missed and backups need to step-up next year.

So, in 9 months, Alabama's former OC is going to take a perenially horrible FBS team and remake them into a consistent winner......maybe someday. Next year's Bison team will be loaded and will make another deep playoff run.

"CSU by a mile"......  ....I doubt it.

McNorton was good especially in the Big Games. Im a little concerned at running back because we are relying on mostly untested talent. Thats a bit risky.

Defense looks good. Most everybody is experienced. O line, looks like we are losing 4.

Its possible for CSU to run up a big score in this game. I dont think it will happen because NDSU is ready for the kind of physical and fast game you see in the FBS.

JBB....Did you watch any CSU games last year? Bison would have beaten them easily.

Ya, the new OC is coming from an excellent 1A program but he cannot work miracles in 9 months. Offensive and defensive schemes will most likely change. CSU is not going to be running efficiently come the start of the season. I'm not saying it is going to be a "cakewalk" for the Bison but with all of the starters we return, I give us a very good chance in this game.

Yes, DJ was good but our running game will not lose a beat next year. We lose 2 starters on the line but with Turner, Lund, Hinz, Gimmestad and probably Jerve back, I think the line could even be better next year.

CSU will not run up the score. If the Bison lose, it will be close.
IMO, the Bison win by 2 TDs.

I didnt see any of their games last year.

The teams look pretty evenly matched. This is a great game for NDSU and a good opportunity for a win, but I dont think it will be easy. Im looking for a game like Wyoming a couple years ago and I think you see a game like Minnesota last year.

Our defense has the potential to be even better next year.

The defense loses Boyer-Evans-Willson-Eaves as starters but the back-ups played a ton this year. IMO, the area that will be even better will be the interior DL. Everyone returns...everyone! Drevlow-Juckem-Perry-LaVoy-Luecke and the RFR-Horvath.....very good group.

'12 is going to be a good year for this team.

The offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Fresno State in 2007, McElwain improved the Bulldogs' output from 338.2 total yards per game the year before his arrival to 419.5 (No. 38 in the nation), and from 23.0 points per contest to 32.9 (No. 32). Fresno State went 9-4 in his only season, including a 40-28 triumph over Georgia Tech in the Humanitarian Bowl.

In 2006, he coached the quarterbacks of the NFL's Oakland Raiders, under Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell, after a three-year stint (2003-05) as assistant head coach, receivers coach and special-teams coach at Michigan State.
Something tells me CSU isn't going to be a cakewalk anymore.

With all of our starters coming back next year...ya, we can win this. We will not go 5-6 like EWU did.

We went 6-5, and also had that many starters coming back. What you cannot account for, is 14 of them going down due to injury, including all but 1 on the OL, top WR, top LB, and top safety. I really do hope all those players for NDSU go down though so you can have a chance to prove me wrong. :thumb:

Bison also had a ton of injuries this year but the back-ups stepped up and played very well. Injuries are part of the game. Look at our starting roster this last year. There is a reason why there were so many sophs and freshman playing this year. Injuries were some of them and they were...good. The Bison also had OL-RB-WR-DL-LB-DB go down this year and miss many games.

EWU was a one-trick pony....NDSU is not even close to that.
