The heated rivalry between the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State football teams has been on hold since 2003.
The nine-year drought appears to have an end in sight.
On Wednesday, UND athletic director Brian Faison said the two rivals have tentative dates to renew the series beginning in Fargo in 2015 and then returning to Grand Forks in 2017.

At least there will be something to play for....PLAYOFFS!!!! Both teams should be on pretty even ground since NDSU will have been full DI members since 2008 and UND since 2012. I hope there is a NO buyout clause.

I fully expect UND to continue their domination of the Bisonettes.

1. Yes, only every other year for the foreseeable future.
2. It should be, regardless of the results from the nickname issue.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's 62-45-3 all-time (in favor of UND) and 25-17 in favor of NDSU since 1963. Either way, I'll gladly take 8 additional national championships for a few head-to-head losses.

You are right 62. But 25-17 since 63? How about UND is 3-1 this century.

Majority of those wins were when NDSU was total sh** in football....but they all count.

How about a century is longer than 12 years? Can we agree on that? "OMG WE'VE WON 3 OUT THE LAST 4 GAMES!" Too bad the last game took place 12 years ago (as will be the case in 2015 when the game will be resume) If you're going to use selective data when making a point, at least make it using a stronger sample size.

I did I used the records of the teams against each other in the current stadiums (Fargodome and Alerus Center). Which puts it at UND 7 NDSU 1.

UNI also has a better record against NDSU overall and since 2000, but I bet they would give that up for a first championship.

UND has a better record over UNI since 2000...(1-0 DII UND over FCS UNI in 2006).
