Southern over New Mexi................. (sorry couldn't do it)

I hate both teams (CSU and NDSU), but I hate CSU even more. I'm hoping the Bison crush the lambs.

I honestly think the Bison win by 3 TD's. Like the article mentions the Lambs have a new coaching staff, new QB and some of their best players got the boot out of the program. They do have some talent returning, including one of the best running backs in the MWC. That being said, I don't think the Lambs would finish in the top 3, even in the Big Sky.

Colorado State is OKAY since they have that Nwowekekewkwe guy. I don't think NDSU wins by 3 touchdowns...probably more like the Minnesota game. I would say 38-27 Bison.

good chances for big upsets there...

I don't think the author directly said the ones listed are the "most likely" but there are certainly FCS/FBS matchups one would have to say hold higher likelihood of a FCS win than some of those listed. For instance I think Stephen F. Austin beating Texas State and McNeese State beating Middle Tennessee State are more likely than the FCS winning most of the games on that list. I happen to be aware of those two because I follow the Southland but I'm sure there are probably others.

Texas St. as is UTSA are still FBS "lite" since their full ramping up to 85 scholies is going to take a few years and they still have mostly lower tiered recruits on roster. Good ones - I wouold add a hopeful UCD over SJSU (did it last time, although they are MUCH improved).

Well...you'd still think that going in one would look at a win by McNeese State over Middle Tennessee State is more likely than most of the potential FCS wins. McNeese State's program in terms of year in year out quality of teams has slipped some but it's still a decent FCS program that has a 2-0 record against Sun Belt teams historically and Middle Tennessee State was 2-10 last season. Add to that the fact that the Southland has been very competitive in head to head games against the Sun Belt. I think the Southland still has a winning record in the series since the Sun Belt was established as a football league though the Sun Belt has made up some ground in recent years. If the Southland doesn't still have a winning record the series is tied or maybe the Sun Belt has a 1 game edge. Something like that.

The point is that when a Southland team plays a Sun Belt team it's not a significant step up in class. The Sun Belt is basically a FCS caliber league. High FCS caliber but still FCS caliber.

I think if Army stays with their running game only and little or no passing SBU has a good shot. We can pass with Essington and our three wide receivers - Gush, Norrel and Coxson will keep Army's defense more than honest. Throw in Coker and Maysonet with the run - who knows our first FBS win ?

Army runs the triple option and will always do so along with the other service academies. They can only recruit smaller faster cut blocking O-lineman that fit the profile parameters of the armed forces.

late bump, I think that might be our only chance. When I was out there I counted 5 black people

ASU has a shot at ECU.

The Citadel has a good chance of sneaking up on NCSU a la Wisconsin in 2007. Like the game with Wisconsin, we won't win, but folks won't be heading for the gates in the 3rd quarter either.

Week 1. SUU @ Utah State
Week 2. SUU @ Cal

I'm not saying that Southern Utah will acutally upset either one of these... but my gut tells me that our game against Cal will be closer than our game against Utah State. That said, I'll still be ripping my guts out cheering at both of these games
