I never thought Chris would be under the gun for ANYTHING. He has to allow SOME banter, or people will leave because the board is no longer fun. Sure, there are limits, but his boards are NOT AGS, where the admins and mods run roughshod over everyone. I found that article VERY one-sided. One of the eGriz responses brought up good points about the way the site is used to drum up good events and the like. Those events, particularly patronage at athletic events, generate revenue for the school in POSITIVE ways, yet those things were mysteriously absent from the article. It falsely portrays the site as pure fraternity scum, completely counter to a previous article they ran on eGriz back in December.

Perhaps some fact-checking should be done before publishing a one-sided hack job.

I don't think Delaware is the problem here. I think it's all the gun-toting, mail-bombing, meth-smoking, red flannel shirt-wearing lumberjack rapists in Montana.

It seems like a good article. I wouldn't be surprised to see if the NCAA or local police as part of their investigation follow internet activity of suspects - email, sites visited, comments on Facebook, Twitter or in this case e-Griz....

The tone of the whole thing reminds me of the initial Penn State reactions last fall.

For some of the Montana boys, this is their first taste of East-Coast women...you drop the C-Bomb on a girl from the North East you better be ready to duck coz she's gonna start swinging. That's a big no, no...

I don't understand her attack on Chris. Football fans are not known for their sensitivity. It's like when you bring your kids to a football and get upset because people are swearing around them. You know the risks, either accept them or wait until their older to take them. EGriz has never promoted a kinder, gentler opinion of football. Where as I wouldn't blame young women for being attacked and the number of cases is rather disturbing...if you don't want to read it, don't go on the site.

Haha, I say that because when a program that you're passionate about starts getting scrutinized by the media & outsiders the first tendency is to "circle the wagons" and defend. The 1st Amendment only takes you so far - ask that WR Spadola from Lehigh about it.

I think it was a good article. The griz fan response reminds me of the way most fans for Montana State got when we had our issues about 10 years ago. No one wants there school to get this kind of attention, but when you do, you have to step back and realize that it isn't anyones fault but your schools. Players got away with anything they wanted for YEARS (I know a couple of ex-griz players and they tell me the same thing) Now it is coming to light and the fans are blaming people for looking into it.

She thinks eGriz is bad? Imagine the reaction had she seen this place. IMO, Chris dodged a bullet.

Read my post, when did I imply guilt. I said that players have gotten away with things. I also said that the response from griz fans was to blame everyone but UM. I don't like that this is going down in missoula, but from what I know, it is not new. Let me know if you want my story. The players were guilty...

What you're saying here is largely correct, and someone definitely should have been looking into these things, but this particular article is terrible. Florio pretends to write it from an unbiased perspective even though she's the unnamed reporter being criticized that's mentioned in the story. To intentionally omit that crucial piece of information is, at best, dubious since she's falsely creating an image of third-person impartiality.

That being said, eGriz needs to tighten its moderating standards. Aside from the stupid, lazy, unconstructive "cunt"-type attacks in response to recent events, the fact that PlayerRep & Growler are still allowed to post there is absurd (especially Growler since he's been banned numerous times under numerous screen names in the past).

Huh? Playerrep is one of the most knowledgeable and best posters on egriz.

If I want to call someone a dick or a cunt or a fucking idiot I had to find a place where it was commonplace. If you want a serious forum go to the conference boards or Rivals or one that has everyone's balls in a vise.

She wanted to explore and find out what people had to say. Some people aren't happy and others (whether she likes or agrees or not) voiced their opinions. It is not a university site and she was only looking for a story.

He may be knowledgeable (in a spin-heavy sort of way), but he also picks pointless fights constantly. Most threads are derailed over there because he & Growler can't stop sniping at each other.
