So I haven't seen this posted anywhere and can't find a story, but I had lunch with an athletics department person on Friday and he said Thorpe had been granted his sixth year.
I normally have no inside information and I'm definitely not posting this as fact, but has anybody else heard that?

The NCAA normally doesn't grant a 6th year until the 5th year is over.
