So I haven't seen this posted anywhere and can't find a story, but I had lunch with an athletics department person on Friday and he said Thorpe had been granted his sixth year.

I normally have no inside information and I'm definitely not posting this as fact, but has anybody else heard that?

The NCAA normally doesn't grant a 6th year until the 5th year is over. Guys like White, and Keenum, and Marve (kid from Purdue) didn't find out until January after the season.

Nope- there would have been at least a thread on that on the JMU page of the CAAZone if it had been formally announced.
