1. Last year we finished with a losing record. This year we will settle for nothing less than a championship.
2. We have not had a guy drafted in 8 years, but we have 3 first-round draft picks starting on defense.
3. We lost by 21 points, but we have you guys at home under the lights this year.
4. They went 2-9 last year, but they return 19 starters.
5. If I were AD, our team would already be in the CAA.
6. Season tickets went up 25% this year, and I can't even get a hold of the ticket office.
7. Preseason rankings are meaningless. Here are mine.
8. This is his second year as Head Coach, and the seat is getting hot.
9. We picked up two transfers from Iowa State last year, so we are now the conference favorites.
10. A Pioneer league team will never get an autobid.

Every team's fans say they will have a winning record - somehow that doesn't seem to work out mathematically.

Well, I guess that's just every other preseason.

You DO realize, I'm sure, that we lost a coach or two, a coordinator or two, some starters and a few QB's over the past 19 years, no? And yet, 18 of 19 in playoff appearances...16 of 19 in BSC championships.

And please explain exactly what impact the investigations will have on what happens ON the field...

Yeah, I'm sure increased pressure from all the drama and maxim scrutiny of their every move, and threat of a post season ban won't affect them at all.

I actually don't think the off the field stuff will factor in that much.

I just don't think the Griz will be anything special this year. As always, the offensive line will be good and an obvious strength, but even they will be fairly inexperienced. Qb is a question mark. Running backs are ok; your receivers won't be anywhere near as talented as the past several years IMO. The defense will be good and will win some games for the Griz.

Although you can never count Montana out, and they could most certainly make the playoffs I just don't see the experience and talent level being there as compared to the past several years. Even with a new HC and system in place in 2010, that team had several great players.

I could be wrong but on paper I just don't see this as being a 10-1 or 9-2 type year for the Griz.

And before anyone says it, no, I don't say this every year.

12. Northern Colorado's incoming transfers will bring instant success

Reload? Yes, you've done that. But you haven't had to rebuild in awhile.

Not to mention the fact that, especially on defense, we always rotate in not-starters on a regular basis, so it's not like it's the first time these guys will be seeing the field. This is the main reason our D is always at least solid, if not stellar.

Depth might be the #1 reason for your consistency from year to year.

We created quite a bit of depth ourselves last year through injuries. Hope it pays off.
