Will go to independent in football, but join the Big Sky in all other sports. Per Jim Allen of the Spokesman Review. I'll post a link as soon as I have one.

They are just delaying the inevitable, might as well just admit you made a mistake by moving up in the first place and come back to the Big Sky in ALL sports.... Wait, hold on, SCREW YOU Vandals, we don't want you for ANY sports, and neither does any other conference in the continental US.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Will go to independent in football, but join the Big Sky in all other sports. They won't survive as Independent. I'll give it 3 years before they admit defeat and rejoin the BSC in football as well.ajwildcat wrote:They are just delaying the inevitable, might as well just admit you made a mistake by moving up in the first place and come back to the Big Sky in ALL sports.... Apparently your commissioner does.ajwildcat wrote:Wait, hold on, SCREW YOU Vandals, we don't want you for ANY sports, and neither does any other conference in the continental US.
I'd like them back, for the sake of having another in-conference rivalry.89Hen wrote:Apparently your commissioner does.ajwildcat wrote:Wait, hold on, SCREW YOU Vandals, we don't want you for ANY sports, and neither does any other conference in the continental US.
Wouldn't Seattle be kind of out of place as the only private school in the conference? Or does it even matter?EWURanger wrote:I assume Fullerton is thinking that this will open the way for them to re-join as an all sports member a couple years down the road.
Personally, I don't like it. If by some miracle they find a home for football then we're stuck with an ever stranger looking conference with 2 football affiliates and a non-football affiliate.
Also, doesn't the WAC sponsor more sports than the Big Sky? Where's the rest of their sports going if the WAC is completely defunct.
What happens with Seattle U and Denver? NMSU? I don't care about NMSU, but Seattle and Denver would be good Oly sports additions.
You're right, since the Big Sky is traditionally made up of state schools with fairly large enrollments - and I think Denver might be private as well. Seattle might be a better fit for the WCC, but I am fairly certain they have been turned down by them before.Grizalltheway wrote:Wouldn't Seattle be kind of out of place as the only private school in the conference? Agreed on PSU - EWU, and that might be the best we can hope for at this point in terms of PNW football rivalries.frinq wrote:I can see the logic of in-state rivals, but honestly the EWU vs PSU rivalry is building pretty well. A more logical rivalry would be with WSU - if WSU ever deigned to schedule you.
Absolutely no way EWU would accept such an arrangement, as it seperates us from Idaho (45 minute drive) and Montana (90 minute drive)....absolutely no way.Wildcat Ryan wrote: Pacific

Ok, so I remember it being a little closer.Brock Landers wrote:90 minute drive? You must be one crazy f#ck on the interstate
Sure. If you drive like a gramma.EWURanger wrote:Ok, so I remember it being a little closer.Brock Landers wrote:90 minute drive? You must be one crazy f#ck on the interstate
It's doable in 3.
If there's snow/ice or construction, 3 is about right.AZGrizFan wrote:Sure. If you drive like a gramma.EWURanger wrote:

Preaching to the converted my friend.Darell1976 wrote:Idaho + Indy = Death!! No way will they afford to bring 5 or 6 teams to the Kibbie Dome and try to sell it out or have pretty good crowds. The past few years they had to rely on MAC teams or FCS teams to play them at home. Good luck trying to get a 11 or 12 game schedule filled. Just save everyone some time and hassle and join the Big Sky.
Would take Idaho back in a heart beat, would only make the big sky better.ajwildcat wrote:They are just delaying the inevitable, might as well just admit you made a mistake by moving up in the first place and come back to the Big Sky in ALL sports....
