Wow, a JMU and Redskins logo on the same field.

I know where I'm breaking into to take a shit this evening. You'll notice a dot over the "I" in Madison if they take the same picture tomorrow.

That field looks pretty beat up already and it's only mid-September. Nice groundskeeping Dan....

Why the need for an nfl stadium? They wont come close to filling it.

WVU will bring a big crowd, but yeah, that's the (I think) second largest stadium in the NFL. Will be tough to fill for a neutral site game with an FCS team involved and the FBS being a few hours away.

I think they recently downsized the stadium to 79,000 fans. Or that is what Russ Potts promotions was stating.

Oh OK. It was around 90 at one point, right? I know it was biggest until Jerry decide to get in a measuring contest with Dan.

You don't downsize a stadium, you can put tarps over sections, but it still holds 90+.

I think I heard they added more suites and reduced the number of club-level seats, which are usually the first part of the stadium that starts going empty during a heavy recession.

They increased seating at one point and then removed some since.

Here is one article about ithttp://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/41 ... he-reason/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Potts says about 79,000, but the paper says 85,000 for 2011. So not sure if they did another downsize this year or not.

Promoters of the game are expecting 50K, 35K WVU and 15K JMU...I'm really hoping JMU can pull 20K and I think it will happen...there are so many places to buy tickets nobody has a hard count now...

The increase came when they took away the giant bar areas behind each end zone and put seats there instead. They had these huge bars where you could stand and still see the game from the concourse level. Note the three sets of stands between the Bud Light :thumb: and Bank of America signs. I think there are more seats in the other end.

They actually physically removed some sections of seating- 12,000 seats in all and created SRO party decks like Jerry has in Dallas. Capacity is now 79k plus SRO space.

They also added a ring of seats either above or below the club level. I think it was 2-3 rows.

BTW, here's what they removed for the "party deck".

I've never understood why it's so shitty. It has been for years. It's basically green painted dirt. Byrd Stadium at UMD was the same until this year.
