I agree with Van Valkenberg and this is something I disagree strongly with Obama on. The federal guidelines take away the rights of the accused in sexual assault cases. Using a lower standard of evidence and denying the accused the right to confront their accuser is absolutely wrong. I'm not speaking of the guilt or innocence of the Montana players, but the system generally.

Agreed completely. And given the number of these that DON'T end up in convictions, the accuser gets off virtually scott free while the accused is basically branded for life regardless. It's a fucked up double standard.Skjellyfetti wrote:I agree with Van Valkenberg and this is something I disagree strongly with Obama on. I don't see any new news in this article and I definitely don't see the NCAA's dreaded Lack Of Institutional Control phraseology.

Bit rich of you to say that, Mr. State Penn, er, I mean Penn State fan. I guess I see where you're coming from. You must be having an awful 12 months.CitadelGrad wrote:It's time for the death penalty.

Color me an idiot, but I didn't see anything in there where the NCAA had served Montana a notice of allegations or anything pertaining to the NCAA determining a "lack of institutional control." I don't know Montana's history of law-breaking (I'm sure someone will inform me), but I don't think one instance of sexual assault makes a school open to L.I.C. charges.

Without completion of a single investigation or any evidence of any non-compliance yet made public, you are the judge and jury based on an old repasted media article. A feminazi Missulian reporter, out of newsworthy material to further her relentless biased agenda, continues to recirculate old type to whomever will run with it. There have been no charges against the University; the primary investigations involve the Missoula County Attorney's office. Of course that doesn't help your cause to raise your program a notch. In your dreams, typical of a grad from a wannabe.CitadelGrad wrote:It's time for the death penalty.

This report has as much validity as the vast majority of reports about Sandusky and Penn State. All of you Montana fuckers (and others) were quick to take those reports as the gospel. It is my prerogative to take this report as gospel. In short, Fuck You!

We might get hit by sanctions, but so far word is they haven't found anything. If it weren't for articles like this, there wouldn't be anything to talk about. I know you all want us to go down so it will make you feel better, though.

I understand what CitGrad is saying, but you have to at least admit that if Montana was in the PAC 12, this story would be on ESPN nightly.

On the other hand, if this happened at, say, Tennessee Tech, it would have barely made the news at all.

Oh, your words wound me. The obvious counter is that charges were actually filed and Sandusky has been found guilty...Montana, not so much.CitadelGrad wrote:This report has as much validity as the vast majority of reports about Sandusky and Penn State. It disgusts me that you continue to stick up for that pedophile and his sidekicks who turned a blind eye to his misdeeds. Keep living in your fantasy land, you bitter old cretin.

Death Penalty would be therapeutic for Montana. It the only FCS school that neglects all its other sports for football. It's the Penn State of FCS - Too big and too powerful.

Let's not kid ourselves. **institutional control** is an oxymoron -- for the most part, everywhere, in each division.

I think we were accused of institutional control on our violations, which might be true considering our one and only compliance officer at the time was a part time professor.
There's a lack of control everywhere. Partly because you're dealing 100's of 18-23 year olds and partly because there are shit ton of rules and they're very complicated. It's like the tax codes, begging to be manipulated and/or broken.
