The worst looking 3-0 start I have ever seen...

And the Hens could easily lose their next three before URI comes to town. And a 5-6 final record is conceivable. :|

Looking like 6 wins this year +/- 1. The good news for Flagship is that ODU will go out with a win over us. ODU will beat Delaware by 30.

No jinx shit being attempted. ODU appears to be the class of the CAA and Delaware isn't half as good as I expected. Barring key injuries, ODU should destroy Delaware.

I'm guessing none of you guys bothered to actually watch the replay on bluehens.com? The UD defense was never challenged. This team is easily better than last year's UD team. The offensive line actually graded better today than DSU or WCU. Left a slew of points on the field as a result of poor red zone execution and some rather ill advised goal line play calling. Defense is coming together nicely. Special teams actually look special, in a very good way. Pierce looked like he's finally shaking the rust off. Had probably our two best returning receivers sidelined, our starting TE sitting out, implementing a hurry up offense, pulling the price tag off a brand new TE...

2 areas that need to get better are blitz protection from the RBs, and red zone play calling. A few play action passes down inside the 20, and a couple fewer dive plays, and we're probably talking about a 30 point win. I'm really looking forward to bumping this thread in 3 or 4 weeks to document who spotted their underpants before they even got the curlers out of their hair for the junior prom.

Be sure to bump the thread if we go 7-4 and miss the playoffs again as well. Playoffs are always the minimum expectation for a Delaware football team. We all know that.

Reverse cowgirl is great in porn. In real life, I prefer plenty of titty time, so regular cowgirl is my preference. :ugeek:

What was this thread about again?

West Chester, Del St, Bucknell... please you couldn't find any bigger cupcakes at the local bakery.

Absolutely, I'll bump it. What's our record going to be in 3 or 4 weeks after @W&M, @UNH, vs. Maine...going into the off week? I'll say 5-1 in the worst case scenario. W&M is presently 0-3, and trying to find answers. UNH is 2-1 with wins over nobodies, like us. Maine is 1-1, with a victory over a Bryant (Bryant got hammered by Marist at home & lost to St. Francis of PA; Marist got beat by Bucknell).

Point being, the 'oh Delaware is the worst 3-0 team of all time', or 'we'll probably end up 5-6', or 'ODU's going to beat us by 30' is all excessively premature talk. Are there areas of the team that we need to see get better? For sure, and I think we've probably outlined them already. But sitting at 3-0, and complaining because we didn't beat everyone we've played by more than 3 or 7 touchdowns is absurdly pessimistic.

Bucknell actually plays Lafayette at home this coming weekend at noon. It's going to be interesting to see how that game shapes up during tailgate in the 'Burg.

Bottom line: We have 8 CAA games coming up.

Successful season = 5-3 +
Disappointment = 4-4
Abysmal failure = 3-5 -

How about Duquesne, Hampton, Campbell, Saint Francis and Alcorn St.

UD, ODU and JMU still haven't really started their seasons and no one really has any idea where they stand.

Yeah, the last three weeks for ODU has been like the NFL pre-season. Nice, but let's put that aside and play some real football.

Shhhh, don't interrupt UD fans while they're pissing and moaning. Some traditions need to be respected and protected.

We've seen the landscape and we know that this team is awful and can't possibly get better. Look out for Maine and UNH too. They've been putting the screws to some of the best talent there is.

Stop the hyperbole (that's my schtick ;) ). Nobody said that. That's the only thing we have to look forward to after the performance in the first three games. We had better damn well get better.

Delaware's preseason is over. We'll have a much better barometer come Saturday night as to how they stack up....

0-3 and losses by a total of 7 points. I'm not saying W&M doesn't have their issues but they are a couple plays away from being 2-1 with an FBS win and a road win over a Top 15 team in Towson. So while they haven't finished games like they could have they'll still be the strongest team UD has faced yet. Not to mention it's on the road vs a team that, regardless of record, plays UD very well. Let's put it this way, if UD wins Saturday I'll have much more confidence in their ability to get to 8 wins than I do right now. This is a must win game for UD if it wants to get into the playoffs.

I've only watched one Tribe game but they looked pretty tough against Towson :twocents:

OK, I'm a bit down after the way we have started. I really thought that our team had the opportunity for surprising to the upside this year, which was re-inforced by the narrow loss at UMD, that should have been a win.

The pattern of the last two weeks has disillusioned me.

GIven the strength of your defense and the struggles of our offense, I really feel this match up favors you guys. Obviously I would love to be wrong...

Agreed - there have plenty of cupcakes to go around. Have to start playing somebody eventually.
