JMU @ URI (1 PM) Awaiting final injury about Thur report before predicting score. 13 JMU starters reportedly missed today. I'm assuming at least the following 4 will miss URI:
-rJr TB Dae'Quan Scott (ankle vs Alcorn/missed WVU) Probably JMU's best offensive weapon. Backup Jordan Anderson rushed for 858 last season and for 75 on 17 carries vs WVU, so he's no slouch. 2 other TB have seen PT with starting O.
-rSo WR Daniel Brown (ACL vs WVU- out for season).
-rJr DT Jordan Stanton (concussion vs WVU) JMU goes 5 deep at DT.
-rSo SS/Hybrid Titus Till (ankle vs WVU)Started at MD last yr. Maybe JMU's 2nd best defensive player. Backup rSr Jamie Veney was an 08'-09' starter, missed last 2 years.

Not for nothing...but why are you SO sure we'll lose? We're talking about a team that we destroyed last year, who is 0-3, and no longer has Grimes? It doesn't make sense. They lost their best offensive player last year. That won't make them better on offense. We are a better team this year than last year and we are getting back our #1 WR and #1 TE; both of whom were inactive last week which contributed to our offensive struggles. Have some faith.

You talking to me? (in DeNiro voice

Like I said, I'd put the line as W&M -1 in their house. That's with home field advantage. Pretty much a pick 'em. UD would be a slight favorite if they played on a neutral field. Not impressed with either squad. Neither is going to win the CAA this year or go far in the playoffs if they sneak in.
But this is football of course. I had UD winning big last week and look what happened. Maybe we finally get our shiznit together? I hope we do. No shame in being wrong if it means my team is moving forward.

I have never been to William and Mary's stadium...is the home field advantage that great? I know that ODU is gonna be extremely difficult not only due to the team they put out on the field but also the crowd noise. I must admit complete ignorance when it come to W&M's home field.

It's no Death Valley (either one of them), but home field means more than the crowd. It's the bus ride, the hotel stay, the crappy locker room, the different everything, etc.

Re: CAA Week 4 Prediction Thread
The stadium is not a significant home field advantage. I like the "old" feel to it but there is a track that separates the field from the stands. The stands are not very tall but they do have fans on all 4 sides of the field. A good percentage of the fan base is over 50. The only time I can remember there being a home field advantage was when ESPN aired a playoff game there against JMU about 7 years ago. Otherwise, meh. Although it is a night game. Night games there are more lively.HenZoneNation wrote:I have never been to William and Mary's stadium...is the home field advantage that great? If you can get in the top several rows the views are much better. The setting is fantastic, so the only drawback is not being able to see the game well enough if you're not in the top rows. Minor drawback.89Hen wrote:Pretty and good tailgaiting, but track + low seating = crappy viewing. Zable sucks but games @ W&M are fun.andy7171 wrote:Zable is awesome. I love it.
