Pulling for the Tuxedos. Picking NDSU....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Could be in the regular season.guinzone wrote:Game of the Year in FCS ?
I'll still wait and see where ODU and JMU end up before their final week game though. That one could be huge.
And I think NDSU wins comfortably.

Can thank the addition of South Dakota to the league for YSU going there two straight years. Just so happens this is how the schedule shook out... Won't hear us complaining as we are 2-0 in Fargo!Pwns wrote:This game is in Fargo why?

I don't know what you mean by comfortably, but I'd take NDSU by 9-13 points93henfan wrote:guinzone wrote:Game of the Year in FCS ?

Can the YSU defense stop the Bison offense? This is where the game will be won.
The Bison defense will give up some yardage to YSU's offense but they will not score enough to win.
Bison win 34-20

Not sure who wins or what the score will be, but hoping YSU wins big.

I'm going to wait a few days before I make my prediction on this game, but I'm leaning YSU. They've had our number so far in MVFC play.

You're 'leaning' YSU?
I thought it was a definite loss for the Bison for you.

YSU has scored at least 31 points in every game this year. Last year they scored 27 in the Dome.
I definitely think Wolford and Company, with a week off to work on their defensive scheme, has a great shot at going 3-0 all time in the FarogoDome.
I'll say 28-24 YSU.

Every game I picked the Bison to lose was a game I felt they could have legitimately lost going into the game. I'm not apologizing for picking them to lose to a FBS team or UNI.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:rkwittem wrote:I'm going to wait a few days before I make my prediction on this game, but I'm leaning YSU. Odds are good that I'll pick YSU. I still vividly recall their offense moving up and down the field last year with no problems whatsoever. Frankly, I expect more of the same this year. I had a strong sense after that game last year based on the ages their main players were that YSU was going to be the top team in the MVFC in 2012, and they've played well so far. I still don't think NDSU is going to win the national title, because it's simply too difficult to do and I think YSU is going to be one reason why.
I might as well make my prediction now. YSU 31, NDSU 27. YSU's streak of offensive productivity doesn't slow down in Fargo...just like last year.

Last year Drevlow was hurt for the YSU game. Not an excuse but that is fact. With him in the lineup, the defense is a better run stopping defense. Plus, IMO, this defense is just as good or better than last year.
Ya, YSU has a very good offense that no defense is going to completely stop. But, I'll take the Bison defense over anyone else. They scored 42 on UNI....no way in he** they do that this week.
Ya, it is hard to repeat as NCs but this team has the talent to do it this year....and next year. We start 1 senior on this team (Lund at center). This team is a veteran and young team at the same time. Plus this game is at home.....I like our chances.
The game last night wasn't as close as the score indicated. IMO, the Bison win by at least a TD next saturday....probably by more.

Re: #3 Youngstown State at #1 North Dakota State
Both teams get a benefit here.
-NDSU is at home
-YSU had a bye week
With seeing and hearing NDSU's noise factor 1st hand, I would take having the game at home over a bye week.
I think at least the winner of this game, and maybe the loser, too, will end up seeded.
I do see YSU has a 2nd straight road game 10/13 @ IL State, and NDSU has @ IL St the last game of the season with IL State coming off of a bye week. Think IL State will knock off 1 of the 2.....

My favorite line came on ESPN.com. The NDSU fan said I don't see anyone on our schedule scoring more than 17 on us this year.... Earth to you buddy, you just gave up 21 to UNI.Ysufan05 wrote:NDSU fans are pretty confident, as they should be. But this YSU team is for real this year. Offense is better with everybody back, defense is improving and with the bye week, this team will be ready. They pulled off the upset last year, but this year it won't be an upset because YSU expects to win! Should be a great one. GO GUINS!!
Should be a dandy. My favorite school vs. my #2 school in FCS football!

I'd like to see the ice birds win, but I think I'm going NDSU.

I'm thinking that we trail and get a lucky Defensive TD off a fumble or an INT for the close 1-4 point win
Crowd will be a factor

I'm pulling for Youngstown because their mascot knows how to pick up the babes. And by babes, I mean homely Eastern Ohio coal-mining women.

Re: #3 Youngstown State at #1 North Dakota State
No kidding, Towson vs. JMU?!?! How can NDSU vs. YSU not be the game of the week? Shoot this is the game of the season so far. Talk about East Coast Bias. Has the 'Czar of the Playbook' even picked a 'GOTW' that compares with what the fans are picking here on CS.com, yet this season? When it comes to FCS, the fans know best.gabe01 wrote:Tough pick... Youngstown has a bye week to prepare and has an actual winning streak in the dome... only team to beat NDSU last year
It's going to be a hell of a game. Since it's in the dome, I'll pick NDSU by 3 points. Wouldn't be shocked whoever win. 2 great teams. Highly ranked. Both have dominating FBS wins and are undefeated with wins over UNI.
Is Football Gameplan not making this the game of the week?
