Who has the toughest schedule? I know we have Weber this week (even they aren't a gimmie) but then we hit our toughest stretch of the season :
- - vs WSU
- @ EWU
- vs CP
- vs MSU
- bye
- @ cal davis

Oct 13 @MTST
Oct 20 CSUS
Oct 27 @SUU
Nov 3 CP
Nov 10 UCD
Nov 17 @PRST
Let the gauntlet begin. We need to win at least 3 of these games, none are gimees. Really seems like we got the short end of the stick with the conference schedule this season. No ISU or UNC.

The OP assumes 7-4 will get you into the playoffs. I doubt that'll be the case this year unless you've played an inordinately difficult schedule. I wouldn't feel at all comfortable without 8 wins.

Come on, grizza. Lay off the smartest guy on the board. Please?

Sac & NoDak won't get there. The other 5 will (meaning 7 DI wins, not necessarily playoffs).

Give me a break, AZ. Sac is NOBODY's walkover this year. EWU will likely win, but it won't be a huge margin.

WEBER
@ EWU
CAL POLY
MONTANA STATE
@ UC Davis
I'm thinking that we at least bookend this list with wins. That leaves us having to win one of three if Go CATS Go is correct. Those games will ALL be hard; I have all three very high in my poll. I'd say that our best chance in those three would be CP, but I wouldn't go anywhere near calling a Sac win there a given.
That said, I'm not so sure 7-4 will do it. I'm thinking we MIGHT have to take FOUR of these final five to get in. Sure, we'll get credit for our B(C)$ win, but we're also going to lose brownie points for our poor home performances against UNC and UND. That MIGHT put us at having to make 8-3, even in this era of the expando-playoffs. Not that anyone's asked, but I don't think ANY argument could be made for Sac getting a seed even if the Hornets win out (which will take a miracle in and of itself). There are too many other good teams out there.
I could make an argument for EWU and MSU to get seeds, though. Not that it would make me all that happy....

I can see Sux St going 1-4 in their last 5. Easily.

I'm going to go out on a short limb and say that was the same type of attitude UM had when they headed into Hornet Stadium last season.

We walked out of Hornet Stadium with the attitude that we would go on to bigger and better things, while the WhoreNuts would have their usual collapse. And lo and behold...

Our usual collapse happened in the regular season whilst (never thought I'd ever use that word) yours happened in the post season.

JFC. Only for the Griz would a close loss in the semifinals be considered a "collapse".

They very well may beat Cal Poly, but I do not think they will coast past the Mustangs.

I don't see how anyone could think anybody can "coast" past CP.

Don't sell your team short. Cal Poly has a light schedule and a very good football team. If they beat Eastern (big if... on the road, no less) I think they get a seed.

It's way early to talk about seeds, but with how the SOCON is shaping up there's a decent chance that any 9-2 or better BSC team gets a seed, even if there's two of them.

Shoot for 8-3 boys, I'm not sure there will be (m)any 7-4 teams in the field this year without an autobid.

WhoaJacks78 wrote:Hey gang, brand new poster here but I have follow the boards on a daily basis and find them great source of info and amusement. I honestly only joined to ask a question that I can't seem to find the answer to.
What happens if the winner of MSU/EWU and the winner of NAU/Cal Poly finish the BSC season undefeated? Who gets the BSC's auto bid? I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but if the winners of those two games win out, the BSC would have two 8-0 teams in conference play. The EWU/Poly game is non-conference so even though it's a long shot, it's still a possibility.
Anybody know?
Doesn't matter, they're both credited for winning the conference, and the committee will seed by their resume.

Read my post again. They have Sac, SUU and PSU as walkovers. That only leaves CP & UCD to worry about....thus, they'll be coasting into the playoffs--guaranteed.
