#3 MSU @ #26 SAC

This should be just as epic a game as EWU/CP, with both playoff and seeding implications.
Interesting tidbit I read in one of MSU's (former) beat writer's articles:
A season ago, Montana State capped October with a resounding trouncing of Idaho State in Bobcat Stadium. In the victory, MSU rushed for 415 yards in a 54-13 demolition of the Bengals, spoiling former MSU head coach Mike Kramer’s return to the Gallatin Valley. Some would say it was the peak performance of MSU’s season.
The next week, Montana State needed a feverish comeback to down Weber State. Two weeks later, the then-No. 1 Bobcats were steamrolled by the Montana Grizzlies in Bozeman, 36-10.

Will Sac come out still fired up and playing for their fallen teammate? Is MSU too full of themselves after a throttling of UND? Or are the Hornets spent after last week's upset of Cal Poly? Discuss.

Could go either way. Hornets need a perfect game if we want to win this one. Turnovers will be key.

One thing I know for sure, 2012 Sac is better than 2011 WSU.

It is a sad, and cryin' shame that football fans aren't readin' that kinda' news this year, huh?!!?

They won't be #1, but a steamrolling is a definite possibility.

GD, Sac State Qb throws a pick and MSU runs out the clock. I actually thought CSUS looked like the better team tonight.

That's because they were. If not for 3 turnovers, MSU gets blown out.

Yep, Sac State has a good team this year. It's obvious they've done a better job with recruiting the past 2-3 years. I thought they had a lot of team speed and athleticism. Beat Cal Poly, played EWU and MSU really tough, but maybe not at the point yet where they are winning the really big games. Their defense did a really nice job against the MSU offense and McGhee looked really pedestrian. Of course MSU did the same to Adams and we were still able to win that one. I guess in the end the better team finds a way to win.

No, the better team just gave MSU a bunch of passing yards to make them feel good about themselves, before snatching the W away.

Well, I’ll be brief here and then I’ll head back out to the bars…
1. MSU is a good team, but not great. I felt that we out played them for most of the game and this defense did an amazing job for most of it. The offense was ok but could have been better. Turnovers were the difference, that punt was a total fluke (even though it took a 5 minute referee conference to convince the last holdout ref that it was a turnover). Norrise should have caught that pass on the INT. Bad fumble by Safron late in the game, no excuse there but it might not have mattered by then. Harrison should have come back to the ball instead of camping out waiting to make the catch on the last drive. Regardless we should have still one because of…
2. That blown TD call in the first qtr was the difference. We lost by 3, that TD would have given us 4 points. How they miss that clear TD catch by Knowles is beyond me. Of course something like this happens against a team from Montana. I hate to say it but we shouldn’t be surprised.
3. Sperbeck Spereck Sperbeck. Mid 4th, 4th and about 6, take the fucking delay of game and punt the ball. Our D was doing great and he decides to waste a timeout and kick a 53 yard FG that was 5 yards short. All the momentum switched at this point. This was a perfect example of why the Hornets will never get over the hump with him making the calls.
Lastly I’m still proud of this team. They battled and should have had another upset in back to back weeks. This season is over but it was one hell of a ride. I hope they can play half this good next season. Our front 6 on defense is one of the best in the BSC, they alone have kept this Hornet program in the hunt.

And uses your backup kicker to boot (pun intended).
At the time all I could think was that Sac just gave us the game.
