NAU vs. SUU

Just curious as to what people think about this game. SUU would love nothing more than to spoil our run and they always play really tough in the games they are supposed to lose. they play nau down to the wire. i think nau wins 21-14. it will be a big test for our offense, which has been sputtering as of late. go jacks

SUU is a walkover. Right, SD?

SUU is tough. Absolutely won't be shocked if the Thunderbirds upset the Lumerjacks this Saturday. If NAU's offense sputters as they did at UNC and in the first half at ISU then it'll be a home loss.

Any insight/comments from Southern Utah fans? I checked their bigskyfans.com site and, I don't know how this is possible, but it is more dead than NAU's fan forum. A game in Cedar City is my next Big Sky conference goal.

They haven't had a breakthrough season yet, so they don't have any bandwagon fans.

It figures to be close. 6 of SUU's 7 conference games have been decided by one score, and the one that wasn't (Montana) didn't become a two-possession game until about a minute left.

teams are usually banged up this time of year. NAU's depth and conditioning should prove to be too much for the T-Birds. NAU by 3 touchdowns.

Nope. No bandwagon fans to speak of after EWU made their national championship run. None at all. :? Climb off your high horse.

I'm sure there a few, but our fanbase is small and has been slowly growing since about 2004. There certainly aren't any bandwagon EWU posters here, unlike the contingent of recent NAU "fans." :coffee:

So...you're judging a fanbase by 4-6 new internet fans? I've been an NAU fan, through mostly thin times as opposed to thick, since my first college football game in grade school in the mid 80s. I'm no johnny-come-lately fan. I sat through enough 42-6 shellackings by U of Nevada-Reno, U of Idaho and the U of Montana to fully appreciate this season for what it is.

You're pooping on our parade, SE.

I'm not questioning anyone's fanhood...but most of us have been on internet forums long enough to know this about schools that see an influx of posters...

1. They claim they just found *insert board* recently....99% of the time that's a lie.

2. Schools that are bad then have a good season see a massive influx of fans that say #1

3. The second the school losses the fans go on a hiatus until the next win.

4. After a loss in the playoffs the fans go on a permanent hiatus, until they figure out how the next season is going, then they might come back

5. Those that do #4, often come back with a new screenname and start over at #1...which is really fun to track what names share IP's.

I'm not saying that it's the new NAU fans, but we see it every year.

It happened with EWU fans, Nova fans, Montana, Delaware, ODU, Liberty (probably the most famous of the CS wagoners), we are seeing it with NDSU fans (here and CS...posters that were around during the transition, then disapared when they went 3-8 and now come back as the biggest NDSU fans ever), we are seeing it with the couple Indiana State fans, etc....

This influx of you fuckers isn't new to us....we know what you are going to do before you do it.

so how good of a fan you are is based on the number of posts you make on an intenet forum? ive traveled to too many away games and sat through too many empty skydome blowouts to admit to that.

So what? How do you think the Lakers, Steelers, Celtics andYankees, all got popular? By winning. You win you get fans and you lose and they disappear. I'm here 2 years no matter what, win or lose, whether they are 8-1 or 1-8. Clippers and Ducks forever

The sad thing is people around here would STILL rather watch the abomination known as Cougar football. :ohno:

I wasn't calling out your fanhood... you're not one of the new posters. And I also recognize that one or two of them are likely real fans that stick through the good and bad times. But most of them won't.

Hey I resemble That!

I am here for as long as I want to be. I love footbal and I love NAU so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

I grew up with 3 brothers one of whom played big time college football. I know a thing or two about the game.

Unless this is Augusta you can count on me being here to put my 2 cents in or more.

Deal with it :flash:

I love these lifers who think they own the board and can decide who comes, who goes, how long they stay and whether anything they say is of value.

As far as saying anything negative about NAU....not too much to say right now. I call it like I see it.

I have nothing to prove to any of you :shit: heads. Just a love of football and NAU.It's not personal.

Sorry we all can't be undefeated in conference and in first place but thats life. Respect what the team is accomplishing and stop :puke: on these threads.

Every winning program has to start somewhere. NAU has turned a corner. Get used to it. The team is stacked for next year.

And :wtf: who cares if a poster has a kid on the team. :whocares:

I think more people leave because of the :loser: on here then jumpin off any bandwagon.

Only Chris owns the board, and only the mods decide who goes (if they've crossed a line that's pretty hard to cross). Anyone is welcome to post as they please. Don't get your plaid panties in a knot just because we acknowledge that posters who join in the midst of a rare playoff season for a perpetual .500 team like NAU won't stick around for long. Sure, you stand tall and support NAU this year, but I'm gonna go out on limb and predict you'll blow away with the leaves of next year's 5-6 or 6-5 Jack team. :coffee:
