UNH 34 TU 24 - The West mess catches up to TU - UNH locks up a bye, maybe a seed?
UM 37 URI 17 - Completes a miserable season for the Rams
UR 24 W&M 14 - Spiders complete turnaround season with a postseason earning win
UD 27 VU 21 - Hens run D forces VU to throw more than they want - Cats playoff hopes die
ODU 26 JMU 24 - Entertaining, but not ODU-like high scoring, Monarchs clinch a seed

TU 34 UNH 31
UM 27 URI 13
UR 21 W&M 14
VU 20 UD 17
ODU 34 JMU 27
Towson is the only team in the land that will be considered for the playoffs with a 7-4 record. The committee will have to mull them over if they beat UNH.

UNH wins CAA auto bid if they win
OR UNH also gains the auto if they lose but JMU wins
OR if UNH loses and ODU wins and Richmond wins and Delaware wins.
Nova wins the CAA auto bid if Nova wins, ODU wins, Towson wins, and Richmond wins.
Towson wins the CAA auto if they win, ODU wins, and W&M wins.
ODU can't gain the auto bid because they are leaving the CAA.
JMU and Richmond do not have any mathamatical way of winning the CAA autobid.

How do you like this story? The school said that they will buy rings for the team if it finishes first.
I hope it happens because I'm dying to know what they would say.
2012 CAA Champions?
KMA CAA?

Here we go again with ODU's fascination with conference championship rings.

UNH at home, looking for the CAA AQ. Towson has looked good at times, but this year West has not impressed.
****BREAKING****
Towson pre-season All-American free safety Jordan Dangerfield was suspended by the CAA for the UNH game.
This is a huge hit to the Tiger defense and a VERY suspicious move by the CAA
I think it's worth at least a TD. UNH 38, Towson 27
Maine @ URI 34-10 Move along. Nothing to see here.
Richmond @ W&M 27-21 Tough call here. The Tribe is by far better than it's record would indicate. UR playing for possible playoff spot has more reason play with abandon.
'Nova @ UD 28- 17 Hens are just too banged up; especially without Pierce.
ODU @ JMU 34-24 A lot of unknowns here as far as the JMU offense.
*Will Thourogood start? He is a true dual threat, but it would be a huge a gamble wasting a redshirt and starting a young untested QB with little or no playing time. Probably not.
*Miraculous recovery by Birdsong? Even if true, he is inexperienced and subject to lapses. Probably not.
*Triple Option? Not in just a week. Definitely not.
Thorpe represents the best chance vs ODU because of our weakness against options and running QBs. Additionally, don't rule out the Wildcat with Scott taking snaps as well.
ODU's recent successes running the ball add another dimension to the Monarch offense. JMU will need to score frequently to make this competitive.

Towson's only path to the playoffs is the autobid - they aren't getting in as an at large at 7-4.

Would you care to explain yourself, Flaggy?
Team X (7-4)
Lost 2 FBS (MAC, SEC)
Best FCS Win - Then-#6 (Must beat current #7 to even be considered)
Best FCS Losses - Then#23 (by 3), now FCS#8 (by 11)
Team Y (7-4)
Split FBS (WAC [L], Pac-12 [W])
Best FCS Win - Then-#11
Best FCS Losses - #1 (by 3), then-#3 (by 3)
It's not even close. Team X, of course, is Towson State. They don't make the cut, IMO....

-Maine
-Towson
-W&M: wishful thinking for JMU's sake if JMU wins, but W&M has played a slew of close games this season, and they're bound to win one sooner or later.
-UD: again, wishfull thinking for JMU's sake if JMU wins, but the last 3 weeks UD has lost @ ODU by 5, to TU in OT, and @ UR by 5. They do have the top rushing defense in the CAA.
-JMU: follow up the worst game of the season with the best.

Congrats to Towson on getting the 7th win that I thought was going to be impossible. Per the preseason agreement, my avatar/profile/signature are Andy's to modify.

Nova with a chance to save CAA from embarrassing itself by having to use Sagarin as a tiebreaker. Nova/ODU win gets Nova in.

So its down to UNH and Villanova for the auto? If ODU wins Villanova gets it, if JMU wins UNH gets it?

Towson is probably the best CAA team...and a team that could have been in the hunt for the championship.
However, their coach is an azz and some of their former and current players are soft, crybaby clowns that don't deserve a place in the playoffs.

Yes, we're done, Andy. Now that the final tallies are in, I have moved Towson State back into my poll at #19. I don't know how that jives with what others will do. I haven't had a chance to look at the final records to determine a potential field based on current realities yet, but IF a 7-4 team goes, there's a good chance that it will be Towson State after what they did to UNH today. That was a butt-kicking of epic proportions, and rightly timed, too....

I hope Torson can somehow sneak in. It's so much more fun when the Twoson fans are still around.
Did I say fans? Damn autocorrect.
