Sources tell us that Idaho athletics director Rob Spear is still conducting phone interviews and plans to speak with Wyoming defensive coordinator Chris Tormey, Montana State head coach Rob Ash, Cal Poly head coach Tim Walsh, along with Gesser, among several others.
Dream on Spear. Why would anyone in their right mind go coach the Vandals?

Temporarily, until they move back down and have to readjust their AD spending

Little chance either of those guys go there, IMO....unless they are interested in coaching another Big Sky team in a couple of years. Both MSU and Cal Poly have way more upside than Idaho.

The only upside to this would be Idaho running the Triple Option under Walsh, am a big fan of that offense (my favorite one and the most underestimated IMO) and I actually think would help the Vandals since they cant recruit the athletes other schools can.
Also any thoughts on this: with the Maryland and Rutgers move shaking up the Big East and now BYU and Boise State looking to go back to the MWC Idaho may be able to actually get into the MWC. If it plays out like I mentioned above the Mountain West would look like:
-Boise State
-Fresno State
-Air Force
-Nevada
-Wyoming
-Colorado State
-UNLV
-New Mexico
-Hawaii
-Utah State
-San Jose State
-BYU
-Idaho
It would make it a 14 team league and with this being the era of the super conferences I could see this happening. if not that then with the Big East losing 2 teams (UCONN will probably go to the ACC to replace Maryland) Conference USA may be losing some more members which would open up a chance for New Mexico State and Idaho to join.

Take Hawaii out of that conference and that would be my dream conference for Montana to be a part of.
