Wofford's beat writer is confirming the news. Has been the DC at Wofford for years and has by far the best track record of any current coach at stopping the Triple Option.

It's a big blow for Wofford as he's been a coach and player there for the last 26 years.

What's the deal? More cash? Was he on the outs with Wofford's HC/AD? Looking for a new challenge?

In any event, changing schools within a conference seems weird. Sac did the same thing before last season, bringing in the former SUU OC. If he was a player at Wofford, too, it's going to be a rough change for him. I wish him the best.

I bet he's getting a raise and is interested in the challenge. I would bet he was sold on the idea of being and FBS coordinator in the very near future. He's beloved by the Wofford faithful who are shocked and saddened by this. He's had some of the best defenses in the SoCon for the last few years. I posted this on the GSU boards and they're worried now.

Here's a story with comments from Ayers. Of course they liberally used semantics in saying Moore was fired.

Wofford fans can speak more intelligently than I, but I thought Woody was at the top of the list to replace Coach Ayers when he retires. Maybe Woody found out that Coach Ayers has no plan to retire anytime soon.

Go Runnin' Bulldogs!

Oh, I think there's a guy at NDSU that would dispute that.
