Is that one of those cheesy in-league non-league games most of us are stuck with on the Left Coast?

It's a non-conference game with a conference member but I don't care as long as it's FCS and a competitive team and NAU fits that defintion. Maybe we've finally broken away from having any D2 games and/or two FBS games in one year - both are loser situations.

You make a good point, '72. At least you didn't go for a home-and-home with ISU or UNC. If you're going to do THAT, you may as well schedule a D-II. As it is, you've done much better than that. Ideally, if you could afford it, scheduling a two-year home-and-home with a FCS major or mid-major back East would be better, but FCS UCs/CSUs aren't going to be able to afford that for a while.
You've made the best of a bad budget situation....

You have Sac State still with three openings. Their 12 game schedule is posted at the following link:

Schedule was posted on to Hornetsports this weekend. No official "release" with a corresponding article as of yet. Probably will come out as we approach spring camp.

you may have to tweak the Big South block.......I know the PC/VMI game is different than originally thought.

I saw your updated VMI version on AGS, that helps with the rest of the Big South, so I should be able to update it tonight.

Just out of curiosity, where has the CCU @ Liberty game been confirmed?

I apologize, but I don't keep notes on where I get stuff. On that one I don't recall exactly, I do know that I got at least two different sources on that one. I have no problem changing it to 'likely', if that is what everyone wants. Also, pretty sure that if you take presby's release and combine it with kdvina's VMI update, the only possible date for that game is 10/12.

Was just asking because I hadn't seen it, sorry. Presby announcing their schedule screwed up what I thought ours would be. Plus, GWU's board says they're playing us on 11/09, but I saw an unofficial VMI schedule that says GWU is playing them on 11/09 - so I'm officially confused about who's doing what when at this point.

I see no one (so far) took Carroll College's offer of playing one Big Sky team a season. I had heard they were trying to get Idaho State this season, and I guess the Bengals settled on Dixie and Western. Can't say I am too disappointed. I was not really impressed with how they played, and the game definitely did not do anything in regards to getting us ready to play Big Sky games. If they are one of the NAIA's elite, then the NAIA is really nowhere near the caliber of the Big Sky.

Well, that's an awful schedule. 2 FBSs, 1 non-DI, and a Big Sky game masquerading as a non-conference game. It doesn't get much worse than that.

Appalachian State Football Finalizes 2013 Schedule
Six home games and trips to Montana and Georgia highlight Appalachian State University football’s 2013 regular-season schedule, which was finalized on Monday...
The marquee matchup is the Black Saturday battle versus Georgia Southern on Oct. 26. The Mountaineers will be in search of a record-tying third-straight victory over its longtime rival after knocking Georgia Southern off its perch atop the national rankings each of the last two seasons.
Will The Convicts wear their prison stripes for Halloween ?
Can they raise their APR above a SoCon basement-dwelling 921 and avoid probation ?
Will the sheep in Watauga County fear for their rectal cavities when The Convicts come to town ?
Stay tuned, Sports Fans.

I don't see why they'd be afraid. The sheep in Boone are quite wily and resourceful, and are easily a match for those slow moving folk from GA.

You weren't around in the before time, were you? Back when No Socks Laney was in charge, it was possible the schedule wouldn't come out before the SoCon Baseball Tournament in late May
