Anthony Knight, Nevada's #1 RB coming out of this spring, was kicked off the team for violating team rules.
http://blogs.rgj.com/packblog/2013/04/1 ... h-program/
he tweeted that on June 10th he would be leaving Reno to transfer to Montana State.
From what I understand he was kicked off the team for a MIP, which seems minor. I hope he gets his stuff together, because when it rains it pours, and its raining talent in Bozeman this year.

Of course he could be a total bust...we wont know until he actually hits the field in Bozeman (or wherever their first game is this fall).
I think I said once before that just because you come from a I-A/FBS school doesn't instantly make you an All-American in the FCS (or lower for that matter). It also doesnt automatically make MSU the favorite in the Big Sky in 2013 as well.

Kid signed with NCSU... then to Reno for two seasons, 4 carries and 10 yards... bust, MIP is not something that gets you kicked off a team.... and then to kick @ss in Bozeman? Really? I know you don't have Woodhead in the backfield, but you must have something.

Kirk and Johnson will be the top 2 RB's this fall. This guy will have to battle for the 3rd spot and IMO will fill the FB/HB role that Tray Robinson played last year.

That's not a crime in NY. Its a violation, akin to a parking ticket.
And, I've still never heard it called an MIP.

It's also a violation in MT, I believe...I mean, they don't ARREST you for it...just cite you on the spot and make you dump it out...

An Idaho State fan talking trash about talent? And who is Woodhead, I (as a bobcat fan for 36 years) have no idea of that name. Did he play for some little team or something? Is he the same guy that is on the patriots now?

Ahh...anyway my point is that one guy isnt going to instantly make you national champions (or at least more of a contender than you already are). Not to mention that one guy isnt going to instantly come in and be better than everyone else at that position.

This is nothing like the Forcier downpour of '11. And that turned out to be a waste of good water.

So the No. 1 running back is booted from Nevada for possessing alcohol underage? No FBS school boots a kid for something like that. Either there's bigger reasons for cutting this kid, or his No. 1 status really isn't what it appears to be.

From the article above.
Knight was suspended during spring camp and first-year coach Brian Polian later said he left the team and it was a mutual decision.
Sophomore running back Anthony Knight, who began spring camp No. 1 on the Wolf Pack’s depth chart
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Knight came to Nevada amid a lot of hype. He Boston native originally committed to North Carolina State before changing course and signing with Nevada. He was one of the most lauded signings in recent Wolf Pack history.
.....................................disclaimer.............................................
I'm not going to say whatever he did to get suspended was nothing. I'm not going to say that he is going to be an instant starter and run all over the BSC. What I will say is sometimes these transfers work and sometimes they don't. If he comes in works hard and buys into what Coach Ash and the team are selling, then everything will work out for him.
