No, but my guess is $400K-$500K. I think the Coastal AD is a Penn State grad, so maybe PSU gave him an alumni premium.AppGuy04 wrote:Any word on how much cash is involved?
Correct. Warren "Moose" Koegel is a Penn State alum - played under JoePa before heading off to the NFL. Don't know how much cash is guaranteed or if there was some kind of "alumni premium" involved - but I do assume that his connections with JoePa likely helped in some fashion to secure the game.CitadelGrad wrote:...I think the Coastal AD is a Penn State grad...
A common open date. I'm really embarrassed by Penn State's new scheduling strategy. We played Youngstown last year and now have Temple, Buffalo and Fla. International on the 2007 schedule. Penn State has been contacted by Colorado, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina, but none of them appear on our schedule through at least 2009. At least we have a series with Alabama coming up.bluehenbillk wrote:I almost fell out of my chair & had to verify it before I posted. How the hell is CCU playing Penn State? UD plays Maryland next year, but I wonder what it'd take for us to play them once.
gotta get Keeler to rub JoePa's bunions, that'll certainly help your case!bluehenbillk wrote:I almost fell out of my chair & had to verify it before I posted. How the hell is CCU playing Penn State? UD plays Maryland next year, but I wonder what it'd take for us to play them once.
Coastal's QB is the brother of former PSU QB Wally Richardson too. Wally works as an athletic adviser at Penn St now.CitadelGrad wrote:No, but my guess is $400K-$500K. You want to raise the price on us? I guess they didn't teach you anything about supply and demand at YSU.guinzone wrote:YSU was paid $350,000 to play in Happy Valley in 2006.
YSU will play at Happy Valley again in 2010 at the same price, or around $350-400k.
Actually he's an academic adviser in the athletic department. I guess I can see how a guy from CCU might forget about academics though.coastal89 wrote:Coastal's QB is the brother of former PSU QB Wally Richardson too. UD-Penn State is one game I'd LOVE to see!bluehenbillk wrote:I almost fell out of my chair & had to verify it before I posted. How the hell is CCU playing Penn State? UD plays Maryland next year, but I wonder what it'd take for us to play them once.
Good guess - Coastal will get $450,000. http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/sports ... 46219.htmlCitadelGrad wrote:No, but my guess is $400K-$500K. I think the Coastal AD is a Penn State grad, so maybe PSU gave him an alumni premium.AppGuy04 wrote:Any word on how much cash is involved?
If you mean exciting in the sense that it's exciting to watch a baby seal being clubbed to death, then I have to agree it will be exciting.MarkCCU wrote:This will be an exciting matchup. Papa Joe and Bennett on opposing sides of the field. I can't wait.
