Does Jordan Johnson have a chance...

I realize that it's an incredible long-shot and has never been done before, but assuming JJ is the same player that he was in 2011, might he garner any Heisman consideration at all? The Payton Award is pretty much a lock (barring injury, of course), but it seems to me that a player so utterly transcendent at this level would get at least some buzz on the Heisman front. Thoughts?
Also, it's good to be back! Can't wait to cheer on those Grizzled Giants as they humiliate an over-matched App. St. squad in Missoula on 8/31! Ha!
It will be interesting to see how the Boys of Boone handle the awesome spectacle of Wa-Griz on a gorgeous late-summer day, filled to the brim with 25,000 of the most rabid and knowledgeable fans in the world!
Oh Montana, You are Marvelous!!

He'll probably get some attention, but like as not get no votes. If Air McNair and Jerry Rice couldn't get it, they're not going to give it to a guy from a school "most" people have never heard of.

Uh, excuse me? The University of Montana is an institution of the absolute HIGHEST learning! Referred to by many as "Harvard West", UM features a collection of professors-in every conceivable discipline-that reads like a "who's who" of academic super-stardom! The mind-blowing list of life-changing discoveries and course-of-life-as-we-know-it contributions by UM faculty would stretch to the moon and beyond! And this says nothing about the Legendary Successes of Griz and Lady Griz Athletics, which are too many to mention here!
Oh, people have heard of the University of Montana, my friend. And after JJ and his Frighteningly Ferocious Gang of Grizzlies run rough-shod under, over and through the rest of the FCS, I may just have to bring your attention back to this thread, and then ask, "Who's your Huckleberry now, Mr. SuperHornet?"

You miss my point, Bear. We in the FCS know about UM. The ECB/B(C)$ elitists do not. They think of FCS, particularly FCS out west, as D-II or worse. They ARE, of course, wrong; UM has a history of destroying the team now known as Da Pac-12 Killaz, and UM DOES have an enviable academic record. But the point remains that the B(C)$ elitists will never allow a FCS player to win the Heisman. Oh, they MIGHT condescend to let his name be read on the Heisman telecast, and MIGHT (if they're feeling "generous") even allow a Griz (or another FCS player) make a "token appearance" on the show. But they will NEVER allow ANY FCS player to even get within sniffing distance of the award itself.
And that's sad, because JJ is an amazing talent. Then again, so was Zach Nash, and much of this board pooh-poohed his talent....

Well, at least you're trying to be polite.

And I'll try to extend to you the same consideration in my suggestion that perhaps you and your friend The Black Falcon should spend your time dick ridin', and leave the serious football talk to those of us who actually know what the hell we're talking about!

AZ! Have I been spending an embarrassing amount of time on my Fainting Couch? Yes! But the important thing is that I'm back, and in what I'm calling my "Renaissance Phase." It is my goal to be more charitable, understanding and altogether less caustic than my previous version.
This is already proving difficult though, as both SE and Grizzaholic seem to have matured not a bit!
I'm tempted to suggest to Grizzaholic that he join SE and Black Falcon for a bit of dick ridin', but that would fly in the face of my new resolutions, don't you think?
Instead, I'll continue to hold the high ground...

Ha ha! Once again a kid who thinks Montana is USC or Notre Dame. This post did make me laugh though! Thank you for that.
