I find it weird that Appy and GSU are ranked during their first transitional year, but ODU has not votes. For a few weeks, UMass was also ranked during its first transitional year.

Ultimately though, it doesn't really matter.

13 works for me. Actually surprised they gave us such a bump.

We need to win a few more games to prove we belong, especially on the road.

Careful.....I said we had some things to improve on and people are all over me about it. ;)

I agree. We left 21 points on the field, and definitely struggled at certain points. We were also a few bad breaks away from only being up 3 in the third quarter. That fumble really turned the tide completely in our favor, but we sure weren't stopping them on that drive.

We also kept leaving the middle of the field wide open, and App got most of their yards just hitting the check down who was constantly wide open in the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

We have work to do, but things are definitely going well so far. :thumb:

I also recall you saying JJ wasn't cut out to be our starter. :coffee:

The first drive (offense and defense) of the game and the second half were :dunce: Other than those I was very happy for the first game of the season, especially against ASU.

On that first drive, we got a bullshit spot from the refs on third down. He definitely got the ball past the first down line before going down (it happened right in front of me), but they spotted it a good two yards back.

Just reminds me of how tough a three game stretch in the middle of the season's going to be for McNeese. They have to go to Northern Iowa. That, to me, is close to as tough as it gets when UNI has a good team and it looks like UNI has a good team. Then the next week it's AT Central Arkansas. And BTW Central Arkansas will be coming off an open date. Then McNeese gets its own open date followed by a home game. That's nice. But the home game is Sam Houston State. It's looking like as tough a three game stretch as McNeese has ever had outside of the playoffs.

We have two similar stretches with W. OR being sandwiched in between OSU, Toledo, and SHSU and ISU sandwiched in between Montana, Poly, and MSU. 5 out of those 6 tough ones are on the road.

Again, we've done nothing yet to prove a Top 25 ranking, but having Lehigh, Coastal Carolina, BFC, and Samford ahead of us in the rankings is a slap to the legacy of KC Keeler.

I see 5 of those teams on our schedule. Could be a long year.

93', polls this early are as worthless as tits on a bull. Heck, JMU beat CCSU by 24, and dropped 1 spot, :? which makes zero sense. Heck, guess would have had to win by 30 some to stay the same and 40+ to move up...

This was 3 min of my life I'll never get back...
