Big Sky Predictions 10-26

I'm currently sitting at 46-22 for the year after going 5-1. It does help when I am not being biased towards Portland State. It would also help if I realize North Dakota is not as good as I think they are. Here are this week's Big Sky predictions and my feeble hope for perfection.

EWU at UM---Without a doubt, the game of the conference this week. The Eagles and the Grizzlies have emerged as two top teams in the conference. This game will be fun, but after last weekend, I have to go with the Grizzlies at home...UM 24, EWU 22.

ISU at SUU---The Bengals threw a bit of a scare into Northern Arizona last week and come into this game with confidence. The Thunderbirds are still trying to find out where their offense has gone. This will be a defensive battle, edge to the Thunderbirds...SUU 14, ISU 7.

UND at PSU---The former Sioux have been struggling although it seems they struggle more at home like last week against Sacramento State. They head out on the road to play the Vikings who seem to misfire at the worst of times...PSU 38, UND 21.

NAU at CP---The Lumberjacks needed to get moving last week in order to get by Idaho State. The Mustangs came out and jumped on Montana early only to lose focus at the end. Another big conference game and this time the Mustangs pull it out...CP 28, NAU 17

UCD at MSU---Each game seems like this is the game the Aggies will be brought back to earth and, aside from the Montana game, the Aggies have looked good. This time they face the Bobcats, who turned back an upset bid last weekend at Weber State. Maybe better than advertised...MSU 38, UCD 25.

Weber State, Northern Colorado and Sacramento State all have byes.

NoDak 27-49 Portland St.The jury's still out on PSU, but the No-Nicks appear to have given up

NAU 17-21 Cal PolyThe Mustangs pull out all the stops to save their season from the toilet

Idaho St. 23-31 SuutahThe Bengals are more competitive, but the T-Birds don't lose close games

EWU 34-38 MontanaCan Eastern's front-7 finally do something against a good opponent?

Davis 17-35 Montana St.The clear frontrunner for the "Least Memorable Game of the Week" award

I think Venus has it here, except for one.

EWU beats the Griz on the road....

I'll bet you a curved-brimmed hat you don't hold us to 20 points. This ain't Bobby Ball.

I'm betting that Weber State will finally put and end to their losing streak with a win over BYE Week.

I don't actually think it will be 34-20, but I do believe we'll have a convincing win a la 2005, hence the 34-20, for old time's sake. It'll probably be more akin to 42-31.

With last weeks play calling...EWU will be up 35 instead of 7  It is not hard to understand.

Yeah, well that was last week. The playcalling will be more akin to App, NoDak and PSU.

And if you really think we're gonna get rolled, you and Grizo can just head on down to Cedar fuckin' City. :coffee:

Dude. Think about the last 2 games. The play calling has been horrible. When Trip knows what the next run play will be...they have a problem.

So how did we put up 42 points on Davis?

And yet they were being touted as having a defense that could possibly stop the Griz offense...but only until we steamrolled them and made them look like shit, just like we're going to do to the Eagle's defense on Saturday. :coffee:

By who?

More like before PSU put 40+ on them. Davis sucked before the season started, they still suck now.

Grizz gives up 17/game
EWU gives up 26/game

I'll take the team that plays better defense.

Grizz 35-21

The Griz have done a great job in keeping PSU and CPU's offenses from scoring. They haven't really faced any other offensive threats.

We're now running the football better than we have in a few years, and no one, including Oregon State, Toledo, SHSU, or SUU have been able to stop our passing attack. It will be very interesting to see how Montana's defense does.

Griz have played no one good. (Well, except NAU, who kicked their ass). EWU has faced two of the top offenses in the FBS, and one of the top offenses in FCS, thus skewing the stats. Against three conference opponents, EWU has given up a grand total of 2 TDs. 16 pts per game.

EWU at UM – Toss up. Went the home team.

ISU at SUU – Comfortable win.

UND at PSU – Comfortable win.

NAU at CP – Toss up. Went with the home team.

cal davis at MSU – Comfortable win.

WSU and UNC both lose to bye. Sac State squeaks past bye in double OT.
