UNI really took the shine off the NDSU/YSU game.

It was being mentioned by ESPN as a possible game day location if YSU had won.

More mental masturbation from some over-exuberant Pen fans on their message board.

If we can't have a good season we might as well ruin somebody else's.

A lot of good ones here and for me it came down to what turns out to be the top two vote-getters: North Dakota State vs. Youngstown State or Sam Houston State vs. Southeastern Louisiana. Obviously for me the second one is bigger because if Sam Houston State can beat Southeastern Louisiana McNeese has a chance for a tie for the Southland championship. No McNeese senior class has left the school without at least one Southland championship since 1990 and this one will if the Cowboys don't get one this year; so it's kind of big in that regard.

Then I expect Sam Houston will do them a favor. This is my game of the week.

SO IF you end up with each team with one conference loss; SHSU>SE LA, SE LA> McNeese, and McNeese> SHSU, what is the next tie breaker in the SLC?

I went for SUU @ MSU.

Loser is effectively out of the playoffs.

SUU is out. Ain't no way MSU loses THAT game.

They might lose to Chadron, but they won't lose to SUU....

Agreed. I'd have probably picked that one if that hadn't happened. Tell you what, I'm glad I'm not a UNI fan. I have a lot of respect for their program but that's got to be the most frustrating team to really care about in terms of wanting them to win in the history of I-AA/FCS. You know they're capable of beating anybody yet they just somehow find ways to lose at times. Then the next thing you know they're beating a really good team.

I hope you're right but I do think Southeastern Louisiana has the best team in the Southland this year. I thought going in that there was no way Sam Houston State wasn't going to slip some losing 11 starters including four of five secondary starters and an All American linebacker off the defense. And Southeastern Louisiana's got the biggest game changer in the conference in their quarterback. Yes, he's a bigger game changer than Sam Houston's Flanders is. They've got the leader/stud guy that can take over a game. And they're very stout on both lines of scrimmage.

I'm just hoping that being where they are for the first time screws them up. The guys on Sam Houston State's team have been in "all the marbles" games before. Southeastern Louisiana's have not. I just hope that has the desired effect. Don't know though. Southeastern Louisiana is very good. If they'd have protected the football against South Dakota State we'd be talking about a 1 loss team with the one loss being a competitive one to TCU. They'd have beaten South Dakota State by three TDs or so without the 6 turnover implosion.
