Reliable source telling me former UNI, current NDSU DC Chris Klieman is interviewing as soon as is convenient for both parties.

I think former EWU coach Jody Sears' seat is on fire right now. Same for uc Davis' coach. Uc Davis should be excellent given their location, and new stadium. They should be 6-6 AT LEAST.

Davis's coach is first year. If they beat Sac this week they'll finish 5-7 and 5-3 in conference. I think he's safe for now.

If a current NDSU coach goes to North Dakota, could see this developing a recurring game between the two schools every year, which I think should happen anyways.

Lol ndsu doesn't have an annual rivalry with und? Wow. Seems like it would be automatic.

It used to be, but NDSU called it quits because they were getting their asses handed to 'em on a much too consistent basis.

10-3 for UND in the last 13 meetings.

Has to do with some sort of petty bullshit about how UND refused to play them when NDSU went up to 1AA and UND was still in Division II. I kind of understand not wanting to play your "rival" when they have 30+ more scholarships, but the series should have been renewed once UND went to Division I.

From what I have read about it, it's just a bunch of bullshit from both sides and all parties involved should really be embarrassed.

Kind of like EWU having a 12-26-1 record against Montana.... :coffee:

Good for UND winning in the 20s - 30s - 40s-and 50s....

I'll take 10 National Titles and a most likely 11th.

Go back to the basement and play with your barbies...

Fiason wants a coach by mid-December and Klieman is still coaching.

Strange, I have also read a few things that mentioned they were interviewing the NDSU DC. Maybe just pure speculation, though.

Mostly this.

It really seems like both sides are a bunch of cry babies over a lot of nothing....Both AD's (and fan bases) are extremely petty. What makes it really funny is the way they both (especially NDSU lately) has been bitching about filling the schedule. I think they only have 9 or 10 games scheduled for next season.

Both schools only had 11 games this season, and I'm pretty sure that includes UND playing conference mate Montana as a NON CON game.

Petty bullshit is really all it is

When they join the same conference, a yearly game will happen. NDSU originally offered a 4 year home and home starting in 2004, and UND rejected it.

Yes, because they were still Division II at the time.

And why do they need to be in the same conference to play? Seems incredibly silly.

UND not only turned down a 4 year home and home, they also said NDSU would fail in it's DI move, it was well documented that they were not going to help NDSU in it's transition by scheduling games with the Bison. Now that both are DI and in different conferences, there is no need for an annual game. Maybe OOC every once in a while, but not yearly.

Should NDSU give up a money game for UND or a Montana type game or a yearly patsie?

Huh? Why not? Pretty sure many other schools in a similar situation still play every year (Colorado/CSU, Iowa/ISU), etc. etc...

You would have not needed to give up anything this year. Both schools played 11 games in a 12 game season. But during regular years, ditch the DII or east coast FCS-in-name-only cupcake you guys have been scheduling in the past, and replace with a home and home with UND. Problem solved.

Klieman is going to be a good fit there. His wife and her family are from Grand Forks.

Those schools are in the FBS and can schedule 12 games. If NDSU could schedule 12 games every year the game would happen.

For the record NDSU has offered UND two contracts to play. Once when they were D2 and again when they went D1. They refused both contracts.

UND offered them a contract also and Gene refused. Every other year is dumb. Might as well not play, IMO.

Not to be too personal but what are her ties to Grand Forks? Grew up there and family still there?
