Surprised there wasn't a thread for this already. I guess all the Bison fans are on AGS. As long as they aren't here, that's fine with me.

I see this one as being similar to the TSU/Butler game. The Paladins just don't have much chance of scoring points without turnovers, and their run defense ain't great either.
Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:
- Quarterbacks -- North Dakota St.
Running Backs - North Dakota St.
Receivers/TEs - North Dakota St.
Offensive Line - North Dakota St.
Defensive Line - North Dakota St.
Linebackers --- North Dakota St.
Secondary ---- North Dakota St.
Kicking ------ Furman
Punting ------ North Dakota St.
Return Teams - North Dakota St.
Kickoffs ------ Furman
- Furman 6-31 North Dakota St.

Why don't you just predict a shut out 35-0???

NDSU has a negative turnover margin, so Furman might get a couple gift field goals.

Furman was down 20-16 at the half vs. LSU. I don't think there will be a shutout.

If NDSU fans have taught us anything it's that they are the best college football team God has ever made
LSU 48 Furman 16 so NDSU 49 Furman 3 because NDSU is better lol
Granted I could see Furman scoring less than 16 vs NDSU but LSU held them to 198 total yards 35-92 rushing and 106 passing on 29 attempts. LSU held Furman to 3.1 yards per play lets see NDSU top that before we hear the "WE ARE BETTER" bullsh!t.

Who the hell has said that? Gil and I are pretty reasonable Bison fans. I don't care what LSU did vs. Furman, but I do know that NDSU will care a lot more about this game than LSU did vs. the Paladins.

Just take a quick look at espn conversation page of the matchup. Right away you will see gems like these lol
"NDSU has won more conference titles than Alabama. Alabama claims more national titles but some of those are sketchy."
"I had a dream about two months ago that we played Arkansas and beat them 31-7. It was nothing but a sea of yellow by the 5 minute mark of the game. I missed most of the game because I had to work. I caught the last 33 yard touchdown run. We have openings that coincide for the 2015 season. The dream might just be fantasy but it could also be an omen of future Bison glory."
"What happens when you add in the parameter to your equation that Furman hasn't faced team which has a MVC-like defense, which includes LSU?
Go Bison!!!"

I'm not sure why you gave Furman the advantage in kicking...NDSU will be kicking the snot out of the Furples.

Only here to entertain with statistics:
2011 GSU was down on Alabama 31-21 half way thru the 4th qtr.
Alabama gave up 341 yards to GSU along with the 21 points. 3 weeks later, NDSU gave up 333 to GSU and held them to 7 points.
Could NDSU have beat Alabama that year, NO, Hell No!
There are lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics.

You thought Kansas State was going to kill the Bison....Where is your Furman upset?

K-State is a hell of a lot better than Furman. Go back to Bisonville. Trolls like you are a part of the reason most on here are pleased there are so few NDSU fans active on these boards. Get a clue.

LOL
You belittled Bison fans for saying that the Bison could win that game against the Kats. Eat a little crow there buddy....

Pick and choose what you want to answer to I see....
Go back and crawl under whatever rock you came from.

Bison have been giving up 10 points in a few games, so I'm going with 24-10 NDSU over Furman.

I never picked NDSU to lose to SHSU. Kansas State yeah. I'm no sycophantic homer like you. Sorry but expecting a team with an overrated QB to lose in the reigning Big XII champs' place is not a bet I make...ever. So sue me. Maybe it would be for the best if NDSU lost a game...deflate your ego a bit. Whether I predict it or not is immaterial and your straw man argument to paint me as a bad fan won't change my mind. Take a hike, pal.
If you don't like it, then beat it and go back to Bisonville or AGS. Please and thanks.

Now you did it
I don't think Jensen is overrated. Most don't think he is a great QB. He doesn't have great running skills or great passing skills, but does enough to win. He is a leader and a winner with a lot of enthusiasm for the game.

Unfortunately the ones who do think he should win the Payton.

Payton award is about the stats so yeah Jensen should not be in that conversation. But that kid is clutch and is a great leader hard to say he isn't. If you disagree you have not watched the past playoffs or didn't watch the Kansas State game. One stat for Jensen that I think is better than any X amount of yards or TD's you can come up with is the fact this guy has won 44 games and is 10-1 in the playoffs and could very well add another 4 wins. For that reason I can see why people give this guy some love. He wouldn't be the first QB I would want to build a team around (out of FCS) but he would be very high on the list.

Put him on an average team no one would know his name.

I think he's a game manager. Not a fan of that kind of QB. He would be miserable without 2 1000 yard rushers behind him. Our WR's can't be that bad, can they? Maybe....

Jensen is a very good QB but not the best FCS QB stats wise.
NDSU will never have Payton winner, just not the type of offense that will put up huge stats. But one thing Jensen is is that he is a winner. He has all the intangibles.

How in the world does NDSU have a negative turn over margin. Jesus. If there is one hope in the world NDSU losses it would be because of Turnovers. 2 untimely turnover is all it takes for a great team to lose to an okay team.

NDSU fans on another board are saying that your football coach, Craig Bohl has taken the Boise State job, and will not be there for the Furman game today.
Any truth to it?

So I know NDSU's defense is legit, but is this Furman defense legit too or are they simply playing out of their minds right now?
