Well, much like the dipshits over at Sports Network, if you continually pick against the Griz, EVENTUALLY you will be correct. Just like a broke clock. Right twice a day. Congrats. :coffee:

Just busting your chops, all in fun. I see on egriz you have become a realist, and the truth came out.

The BSC needs EWU to keep alive, or else next year will look pretty ugly in the polls and selection process. Tough draw for NAU and SUU, but I think it really answered questions.

Time to Reload, wish the Griz would have not given Delaney the extension, another year of recruiting could hurt the Griz for a few more years.

I have Willie Mays and the whole Giants baseball teams autographs on a baseball, some other great players, and I don't remember what year it is from. My Grandpa had a friend that knew one of the coaches.

How has his recruiting hurt the Griz?

No kidding.

His last recruiting class, taking into account the off-season shit storm and 5-6 record, was a slam dunk.

Honestly, I think Delaney has done a very good job the last two seasons. Had Breske stayed on as DC, the Griz would have beat Coastal and probably EWU and NAU, too. :coffee:

I think we'd be national champs if it wasn't for the refs, our head coach, our DC, our OC, our DB's and our O-line. :coffee:

Breske was a disaster at NDSU. His defense in 09 was a total joke.

Maybe his defenses are better now but I was sure happy he didn't stay.

That's the only black mark on his resume. He was a DC for three Joe Glenn national championship teams at NoCo and Montana and his defenses were often the lone bright spot for Glenn's Wyoming teams.

Those Griz fans that seem to think Gregorak should be fired because he's not Breske are morons. Breske's a guy that should be a lot higher profile than he is, and is a better DC than any FCS team should expect to get.

I knew of his past success before he came so I was really surprised how poor the defense was. Probably more of a personal fit for his defense....probably not the players he was looking for. It was really frustrating that year seeing the defense just get gashed for yards, even against poor teams.

Yeah, I was surprised at what happened when he was there in '09, too. Something clearly didn't fit for whatever reason.

I don't think he should be fired, but it was puzzling and frustrating how a few teams just ran all over us in the first half of games before we figured out how to stop them, or at least slow them down. With all the talent we had in our front 7 I had much higher hopes for our D.

I think the lack of DB depth really hurt UM against spread teams. I wonder if Gregorak will consider developing a dedicated nickel back/safety or some other kind of 4-2-5 package for spread teams. With Lebsock being a converted safety that may not be necessary, however. A puzzling problem, though, was the seeming inability of Montana's blitzes to actually get pressure on the QB (that's also why the NoDak game in 2012 went so badly).

A lot of fans like to criticize lack of defensive aggressiveness (not just Griz fans, either), but it seemed the Griz D was at their worst this year when they got aggressive.

good post. I don't think a 4-3 does very well against the spread and I hope Gregorak figures this out althought he has been stubborn so far. He has made some adjustments in games but lack of execution killed the Griz at times. We will see next year.........

The problem is that you have to take out a starting LB for a backup DB, and UM's backup DBs weren't too good this year. We only saw much in the way of extra DBs in passing situations this year as a result; run defense would be too compromised otherwise I'm guessing. It may have been a "least-bad" option to stay in the 4-3 a lot of the time.
