New Hampshire @ Southeastern Louisiana

Ah, yes, the bane of New Hampshire's existence. It's not the snow, or presidential campaigns, or lack of football fan support… it's playoff rounds that begin with a "Q". The Wildcats are in the playoffs for the tenth-straight season, but are 0-6 in the quarterfinals over that stretch. This matchup is pretty even otherwise, so I'll go with UNH's history & the home field in Hammond.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- Southeastern Louisiana

        Running Backs - New Hampshire

        Receivers/TEs - New Hampshire

        Offensive Line - Southeastern Louisiana

        Defensive Line - New Hampshire

        Linebackers --- Southeastern Louisiana

        Secondary ---- Southeastern Louisiana

        Kicking ------ Southeastern Louisiana

        Punting ------ New Hampshire

        Return Teams - Southeastern Louisiana

        Kickoffs ------ Southeastern Louisiana

        • New Hampshire 24-31 Southeastern Louisiana

UNH 14, SELA 7 at the half. Pretty good game. Anyone watching?

The score seems much closer than it should be. I expect UNH to take control in the second half.

You only have to get one foot in for a completion in college, but I just LOVE how that UNH receiver tiptoed the sideline to secure that big first down. There are NFL receivers who can't do that....

Well, at least the Lions are good at blocking field goals.

I have to wonder why SELA didn't put Bennett in the shotgun and do a run/pass option thing on third down.

I just hope SELA doesn't make the same mistake they made in the first half with that clock management....

My God, man. New Hampshire is bringing the same type of game Eastern brought today. They are doing everything they can to lose, but the other team just doesn't have enough talent to take advantage. Just like EWU earlier today, UNH should be up by 4 TDs by now.

SELA takes the lead on a TRAVESTY of a play. I "get" the rule, but it's a bogus rule. Your helmet comes off, you play at your own risk. That's officiating determining the outcome. Ugh!

That wasn't the travesty.

The travesty was #71 being 10 yds downfield on that screen, and prior to that, the no call on the grounding by #3 to avoid the sack.

And they miss the PAT!!! The way this game is going, it just seems like SE Louisiana is leading a charmed existence. I have a hunch they pull this out, despite not being nearly as good.

Nevermind. #7 should've had a catch at the UNH 30 and would've set up a FG, but he flat dropped it. Good job by UNH not to go straight dime-deep at the end and force SE LA to make the yards.

Oh well. Not a bad effort by SELA. UNH beat it's own conference champion by a lot worse than it beat the Lions. And they weren't going to go to Fargo and beat NDSU anyway. UNH probably isn't going to do that either.

But we'll see. At this point we still have the possibility of having two teams from the same conference meet in the championship game for the first time in all the years of I-AA/FCS playoffs. Frankly I favor Towson to get there. And it wouldn't be an absolute shock to see UNH get there. A surprise, yes. An absolute shock, no.

Can you imagine winning a half billion? Of course, after taxes, it's probably something in the neighborhood of $14.

Really good win on the road for UNH.

Bison should give them a challenge.

UNH pulled out one they should have won going away. They won't be able to get away with allowing blocked field goals against NDSU....

Congrats to UNH. Don't mind rootin for UNH (other than Travis being a di*khead).

UNH finally gets over the quarterfinal hump after going winless in their previous 6 trips to the qtrs in the previous 9 seasons..

Straight take home in North Carolina after all taxes is around $201 million ... an annuity works out to $12.5m/yr for 30 years after taxes. I'm not greedy -- I could go either way.

But, I won't buy a ticket until it goes over $600 million

I neglected to add the offsides on the SELA left DE (when he batted down the pass). That was obvious to everyone but the officials.
