2014 CAA Predictions!!!

After looking over every team's schedule, making a few wild guesses, and some clearly bias choices, the following is what I have to offer.

I don't believe any of the teams in the CAA will win their FBS game. I would like to predict Nova going 11 - 0 in FCS competition, but due to injuries, weather, growing pains, I'm going to concede the two road games in Va., and cross my fingers on the road game in Orono. The schedule seems to favor Towson. My CAA bias has the CAA winning all of their non-confernce non FBS games, but there are about 10 non confernce games that could go against the CAA teams, especially the bottom 4 in my ranking.

Towson 7 - 1 CAA,, 10 - 2 Overall, losing to Nova & WV..
Nova 6 - 2 CAA, 9 - 3 Overall, losses to Syracuse, W&M & UR.
Richmond 6 - 2 CAA, 9 - 3 Overall, losses to Va., W&M, & Maine on the road.
Maine 6 - 2 CAA, 8 - 3 Overall, losses to BC, Towson, & Nova
UNH 6 - 2. 8 - 3 Overall, all road losses to Toledo, Richmond, & Maine
JMU 5 - 3 CAA, 8 - 4 Overall, losses to MD, Nova, TU, & UR.
W&M 5 - 3 CAA, 8 - 4 Overall, All road losses to Va. Tech, UNH, JMU, & TU
Delaware 3 - 5 CAA, 6 - 6 Overall
Albany 1 - 7 CAA, 5 - 7 Overall
Stony Brook 1 - 7 CAA, 4 - 8 Overall
Elon 1 - 7 CAA, 4 - 8 Overall, 1st CAA Win, 10/18 vs Stony Brook
URI 1 - 7 CAA, 4 - 8 Overall

Your thoughts?

It will look nothing like this. Can't remember the last time I saw a CAA forecast that was even close to reality. Mine included. ;)

Tough to disagree with, though I'm interested in seeing if Towson can sustain success after losing a star.

I agree - they lost West and the majority of that offensive line. Wasn't like they had a lot else going on outside of that.

Mr tough guy handshake is gone, ambrose is not. If I were to bet on someone, not named Towson, I'd pick Nova to win the CAA.

I will be watching how the new o-line does, Victor had a fantiastic freshman year running behind West. 630 yards, @6.4 a rush. NB.

Or WRs are supposed to be pretty good this year. QB is a question. Everyone is waiting to see if the Ambrose "chuck-n-duck" of the PL days will return.

Defense should be good with a strong secondary and DL.

...still laughing about the handshake.

Keeler stole that game from Ambrose just like Brock did last year.

Also, Keeler is still coaching, just for some team in Texas now.

They lost more talent than anyone else in the CAA. Looking at their game notes vs JMU & the 2013 All CAA honors they lost 8 starters offense:
-All World West
-QB
-4 OL (3 whom were all CAA, 2 1st teamers whom I believe were AA)
-3rd team All CAA WR
-starting TE

4 defensive starters defense:
-1st and 2nd team All CAA LBs
-1st team All CAA CB

They return a FB and WR that got All CAA honors, and a couple of 1st team All CAA on defense (a DL and DB). They definitely have enough talent returning won't pull a 2010 Villanova, who went from the semis in 10' to to 2-9 in 11'. Looking at their schedule if they get good QB play (I have no idea what their QB situation is I could see 8-4 ish. If they struggle at QB they will struggle to reach .500.

Your nuts if you think TU will finish 7-1.
Maine is never good 2 seasons in a row.

JMU will probably lose around 4 games, but not what you have.
-Will be a HUGE difference from playing at home a UNCC team in its 1st season of football, with 2 scholly classes and about 55 on scholly, to playing on the road a UNCC team in its 2nd season of football, 3 scholly classes and about 75 on scholly.
-JMU finishes somewhere along the lines of 8-4/6-2 or 7-5/5-3. Loses:
@ MD
@ VU,
maybe @ UNCC
@ either UR or SBU (play those 2 road games back to back)
maybe a home game (among UD, W&M, TU).

VU and UNH will be in the playoffs + 2-3 of the following 5: UR, W&M, JMU, UD, TU

Did anyone else load up on transfers besides JMU (took 7: 5 BCS, 1 MAC, JUCO)?

We don't believe in transfers anymore. When Brock was hired he had to sign a minimal transfer pledge as a kneejerk reaction to moving away from Keeler. If we have glaring needs now we're going to resort to crossing our fingers rather than a viable transfer. That and throwing salt over our shoulders.

Meh. Frazier led the comeback vs EWU last year. If Ambrose stays run first, we shouldn't be all that hampered.

Which would probably be 10-2 overall. I think that's nuts. I nailed it with them last season I predicted on the JMU board for them to go 10-2 last season (albeit 7-1 in conference, not 6-2).

BTW I was wrong on Nova when I said semis in 09' and 2-9 in 10'. It was semis in 10' and 2-9 in 11'.

89 was pointing out that giving up one's testicles is a bit of a severe price to pay for losing a wager.

He said it was only half as bad as what his dog went through.

If I ever get a dog I don't think I would neuter it. It will be an awkward conversation explaining to my girls though. I always think of a scene from Married with Children episode where Buck can be heard thinking Don't do it to me Al. Kelly Bundy was hot, especially in the early years.

We're the same age as her, well at least I am.
So I don't feel any bit strange to personal feeling to her on a repeat from 1987.
