FCS conferences records vs other FCS

Post by bucs90 »

Thought I'd list some fun stats. This is the records of the FCS conferences versus out-of-conference FCS schools (No FBS, no D2 games).
Winning record vs other FCS
Missouri Valley: 23-1 (Wow)
Colonial Athletic: 19-9
Big South: 13-4
Patriot: 14-12

Sub .500 vs other FCS
Big Sky: 8-9
Southland: 8-9
SoCon: 5-7
Ohio Valley: 6-9
Ivy: 4-9
NEC: 9-15
SWAC: 2-8
Pioneer: 4-14
MEAC: 4-15

Found this interesting.

I wish there was a Patriot, MEAC, SWAC, NEC, Ivy, and more than one Pioneer out west.

Since we're on this road I'll list the Sagarin FCS (AA) conference strength rankings. Of course the idea is that they consider not only what your record is but also how strong the opposition was. Only thing is I don't know if the rankings are based entirely on what's happened this season yet. Sagarin used to indicate whether or not he'd reached that point yet but as far as I can tell he doesn't anymore. Should be close to that if not there yet though.

MISSOURI VALLEY
COLONIAL
SOUTHLAND
BIG SKY
OHIO VALLEY
SOUTHERN
IVY LEAGUE
BIG SOUTH
PATRIOT
I-AA INDEPENDENTS
NORTHEAST
MID-EASTERN
SWAC-EAST
SWAC-WEST
PIONEER

Genuinely surprised that the Southland came out that high, though, due to Incarnate Word and Houston Baptist being in it now.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

How the heck is the SLC in front of the Big Sky after their FBS defections?!?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

That's because they get to come through the East bracket where there's no other competition. :coffee:
