Jones caught a tough pass on 3rd. & 19 earlier in the drive.

14-7 Griz now after a 20-yard pass from JJ to Saylor.
Burke (WR) threw a long pass to Janssen on the previous play.

Howe scores to tie it at 14 inside the final minute of the half.

Greenberg misses a 38-yard FG to end the half.
Still tied at 14.
So far, it's been Chris Brown's dangerous running versus Montana's ability to catch balls in traffic.

Safe to say the Griz defense was exposed here.

Hate to say it, but the Griz are downright awful on the road and only above average at home. Play calling highly suspect, defense is good but seems to give up big plays, really no consistency on either end. Its frustrating watching an offense with Jones, Van, Canada and Johnson and see them struggle every other drive. Whatever though, we can beat EWU and MSU and miss the playoffs and that will be enough for me.

Well, if we're good enough to beat those teams, why wouldn't we beat Sac and SUU?

First off, I am not trying to be a dick...
Do any of you griz fans notice how often your WR's seem to talk and strut around after doing something (Given, some of those catches were REALLY good.) I don't watch the Cats players very closely after a big play, but I don't remember them being that cocky after almost every play. Every pass that Jones caught turned into a head bobbing strut for 5 yards. Same with the other receivers, they seemed to be in the face of the DB every time they catch it. Van doesn't seem to do that, unless he scores, but I am OK then. At least he put points on the board.

Do you have any receivers left who have actually done something?

We have two freshman that have done real well. And Greible (sp) has been a great WR so far. We are missing 5 right now, but we are in great shape at that position.

Meh. My only complaint is that the cockiness hasn't translated to more consistent success on offense.

Because the only catches they seem to even be making are incredible.
We're bad this year. If we lose this week, Missoula is gonna burn to the ground.

The offense screwed up too much & wasted too many possessions in the second half, which kept the defense on the field way too much. The D didn't play well, of course, but they could have received more help from the other side of the ball. Van Ackeren's injury didn't help the D out, either.
To be honest, I think the Griz spread it out too much in this game. Montana's running game is at its best when Ralston & particularly Wilson are on the field (Wilson is probably the best run blocker on the entire team). Johnson also does good play-action fakes from the I-Form & similar looks. Also, Montana's (healthy) WRs aren't speedy enough to gain separation if the D is looking pass most of the time.

Missoula will more likely drown...

Good point. But beating the Bobcats or the Eagles is a highlight in any season.
