They haven't beaten a team with a winning record yet. Combined record of teams they have beaten (not including DII game) is 13-26.

Lost all games against teams with winning records.

Same could be said for Montana State, although they do have a win over 5-5 Central Arkansas.

Montana lost to a FBS, #1 NDSU and a ranked Cal Poly and beat South Dakota no bad losses
NAU lost to a FBS, South Dakota(2-7), and Northern Colorado(3-6), 2 bad losses, 2 good wins(EWU & Poly).

Both are 5-2 vs FCS

NAU does have an easier schedule and should win out, but Montana will have a tough time with EWU and Montana St left.

Remember Jon, the only poll that counts is the last poll of the season.

On a more serious note, the combination of a vastly diminished FCS and an increase to a ridiculous 24 playoff slots ensures that some very poor teams will get in the field.

I mean, when you have people seriously considering 2014 JMU and Albany for playoff spots, well, that's a very sad indictment on FCS football.

Oh I know - still a lot of football to be played. As an NAU fan, I still expect 6-6

Just looking at schedules and how some teams have managed to stay ranked/be ranked on a poor resume. Losing by 20 to a team NAU beat...

FCS lost App and GSU (two traditional powers) and who else? Ga State - improves the FCS. ODU? meh.

Expanded playoffs - somewhat.

I love the 24 field team. It gives more programs an incentive to improve their recruiting, facilities, etc and provides some interesting match ups.

So you'd be OK with 32. How about 64?

Losing to Poly by 20 is a better loss than losing at ALL to SoDak OR UNC, let alone BOTH. :suspicious: :suspicious:

This.

Moving to 24 is practically headed toward the joke that is the participation trophy mentality that is today's FBS :twocents:

Just for reference on that USD loss...

USD is winless in mvfc play and outscored by SC average of 35-12
