New coach obviously, but lots of talent returning on offense and defense. Biggest question will be QB, but there's talk of a pretty good transfer coming in from Idaho.

Isn't that kind of a downgrade compared to a HS student?

I don't expect Montana to make a run at the championship next year, but yes, they should be very good. New coach new quarterback...

Helps when you have the talent base that won 3 straight NCs. A QB from Idaho? Might as well throw SH in there, and I'm not talking about the hyphen.

We also have a QB from Oregon your coach wanted to get his hands on. Might even have said coach on our sideline, too. :coffee:

Do you seriously believe that? Just because some dude wrote an article in the local paper in Zoo town doesn't make it so.

Anyway, not surprised in the least the Oregon QB went to the Griz. Probably wants to play...looking at the talent we have at QB, to include the 2013 WA Gatorade POY redshirting at Eastern this year, he probably made a wise choice.

I doubt it would happen, but it would be a pay raise. And Kramer did leave EWU to go to Bozeman.

Then again, Kramer is a douche…

Night and day difference between our football program in 2000 as compared to 2014. Kramer also had previous ties to MSU, having been an assistant on the 1984 team that won the NC there (so I'm told) ;) In any case, the Kramer thing probably isn't the greatest comparison, although I'll admit that anything could happen. Not saying he'll be at Eastern next year, either - just that I doubt he'll be at Montana.

Ok, that was some funny shit right there.

RE: the Idaho QB, his coach was quoted in the Spokesman today as saying he didn't intend on transferring. Looks like this might be another example of the egriz rumor mill.

Anyway, would ANYONE on Idaho's roster transferring in to one of the better BSC schools be considered an "upgrade" in talent?

When we played them in 2012, the difference in talent levels was very apparent. Maybe they have improved since then, I don't know.

True, to some extent, but MSU's program was a bit crappier in 2000 too.

Zak Hill is going to be the next HC of the Griz? Good for him! :coffee:

Montana will be tough at home.

NDSU will have to replace a lot of talent on defense next year. DE, all the LBers and both FS and SS. Very good players are their backups but you cannot lose that kind of talent and not have growing pains or a drop off right away. The DL line will be the strength right away IMO.

The offense is a different story. Our best OLmen will return from injury and another 6 guys return on the OL that are playing this year. QB, RB, FB, TE will be loaded and our best WR might take a medical hardship year and play next year.

The offense will be good and the defense will get better as the season goes along.

Eh, mostly stirring shit up. :thumb:

Whoever does get the job will have a lot of returning talent at his disposal. We'll just have to wait and see how well he utilizes it.
