JMU better overall and conference record than UR, thumped UR, yet UR gets a 1st round bye an an easier round of 16 draw. What a crock.. :ohno:

Was very surprised not to see NDSU #1. It really doesn't matter too much 1 versus 2. Both get home field throughout playoffs. That being said, NDSU should have gotten #1. Not because of what happened in the past, but by this season alone. Even if they hadn't won a single NC the last 3 years they would deserve #1 IMHOP. Really surprised that UNH got it. UNH got taken to the woodshed by Toldeo and didn't play VU or JMU. They played and beat 1 playoff team, UR, by 3. And they only played 11 games. Don't get me wrong think UNH was a deserving #2. But NDSU went 11-1/7-1, beat a Big 12 and was 4-1 vs playoff teams (3-1 vs MVFC + beat Montana OOC) in the best conference in the country. One of the strongest if not the strongest 1 loss resumes I have ever seen.

Committee chairman said UNH's win streak and unblemished conference record is what made them #1. Never said anything about NDSU's Big 12 win but said their conference loss was the tipping point for UNH.

Probably doesn't matter too much. I think SDSU will beat Montana State but I'm hoping MSU wins so they can get beat down in Fargo. Esp after their buyout last year.

If and that's a big if they get by SDSU, the Bizon will absolutely destroy the Cats.

Easy to criticize with 24+ moving parts, but the selection committee did a helluva job, IMHO.

I might have to go watch Villanova beat JMU in two weeks. :D

The Coastal Coach is an impressive guy
I thought he did a fantastic job preparing and motivating the team last year against the Griz

I see he has written a couple books
Any suggestions on one to purchase?

The #2 seed is essentially the #1 seed this year.

That side of the bracket isn't nearly as fierce.

NDSU got essentially what they wanted there.

Only EWU, UNH, UNI are any good on that side of the bracket, and I think UNH will bow out as usual. Montana will fold like a cheap suit. Illinois State will also exit early. The rest are fluff and absolutely no threat to anyone.

On the other side of the bracket, Coastal and JSU are simply over matched and are no threat to advance to the chipper. NDSU and nova are two of the possible champions.

However, JMU is on a roll and has a real shot at beating nova and could beat NDSU.

Heck, I would not count out SHSU...they stuck with EWU until the 4th, at EWU, and the Bearcats are a MUCH better team now. Lots of speed and talent. And forget trying to match their RBs...they have three that are outstanding. They did lose three starters to injury against UCA, so that could be a factor.

SDSU is solid, but NDSU has their number.

Richmond, with Strauss healthy, is another good team that could challenge NDSU. If Strauss is hurt, then they are toast.

I see more legitimate title threats on NDSU's side of the bracket.

Geographically, campus to campus as per Google maps:

JMU + LU combined distance to CCU: 688 miles.
UR + Morgan State combined distance to CCU: 779 miles.

JMU + LU combined distance to VU: 597 miles.
UR + Morgan State combined distance to VU: 345 miles.

Did these idiots not look at a map before making the pairings?

And as far as VU beating JMU in a rematch not so fast. Completely different JMU team that lost 49-31 @ VU in Sept (who was coming off a bye) followed by losing to UD in OT.
