The Great Broken Gateway Boondoggle

Here we are, what 3-4 years later and this magnificent project to ewu football is no more a reality than big beer making a good beer...
Few funding alternatives
At first glance, the school would appear to have several avenues to raise all or part of the $60 million: other institutions have tapped a combination of athletic department reserves, television and licensing revenue, student fees, university funds, state assistance and bonds.
For now at least, few of those options are practical in the case of the Gateway:
• Eastern’s athletic budget in 2013-14 totaled $11,469,560, the second-smallest in the Big Sky Conference. Despite sponsoring just five sports for men and seven for women and getting some big paydays for football games against schools from the Pac-12 Conference, the department still lost $68,467.

In the mean time those idiots at EGriz have raised over $200,000 in just a few weeks...

The Champions Center will probably open and ready for business before they even get half of the $$ they need lined up.

Cool story bro. You'll never understand the challenges that EWU faces as a smaller school, so why waste our time trying to explain it?
1. You're just trolling and don't care
2. You're beloved Griz can no longer beat the Eags on the field so you resort to online forums about raising money
But hey, at least your got Bob Stitt....

Yes, EWU people can't get over how good we've been and how much they like getting a win against us. We're the top dog even if we've lost a few to a few teams. Christ winning 3 or 4 in a row against a team...any team doesn't mean shit to us because we've done it so often. Hell we roll out double digit win streaks with regularity.
It means everything to the rest of you.
We don't need to be concerned with getting back on top too much. You, me, and everyone else knows it's coming and there is not a damn thing any of you can do about it except watch it happen....again.

I gotta go look at some pics but I think kalm was wearing the jean shorts in Missoula last time.
He looked great in them though.

Wait, they don't have their 18k seat stadium with 900,000,000 ft video board yet?
Well, what the fuck.
I was told it was 100% a done deal and it would be open "soon".
I think that was before my first kid was born. My wife is already olver half done getting the second one completely cooked

We don't need much since you've barely scraped by and I've been rooting for you guys to get better for a much longer period of time anyway so I'll take it.

The Gateway thing seemed overly ambitious but figured they might be on the road to something that put them near the top of the conference with facilities but I really do hope they get a couple of things done there. The fans (not kalm and those like him) are just pretty much childish dicks but it is a great setting for a good football team.
Once they get some good visitor side bleachers I think they are on their way but for whatever reason they have not been able to capitalize on recent success.
Serious now kalm, what do you think is holding it back?

ewe hit the nail on your head. Great work, I really didn't think anyone would see through me. All it took was someone with 10 posts to show me up...
BTW, it is barely the beginning of summer with two plus months to go. So of course I am trolling kalm and even more so the Flathead SE.
More to the point though is that the story is 100% true no matter how much ewe want it not to be. Have fun with your mom tonight.
