Jerel Harrison, a leading wide receiver for University of Delaware football team, has been charged with first-degree assault after a fight in the locker room Thursday evening, UD officials said Friday.

According to UD police, Harrison struck a teammate with a helmet. The player, whom UD has not identified, was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Rex Ryan will surely move him to the top of the Bills' draft board.

UD is circling the wagons right now.

In addition to this particular starting WR, who was an Honor student, getting kicked off the team for assaulting a teammate, we had a starting defensive back get removed from the team for getting into a fight (he is now facing felony charges), and a starting LB leave for reasons unsaid, although there were some issues with him not taking the right number of classes to remain eligible, and we had another talented WR leave the team and transfer to another school.

All of these issues were supposed to be gone with our new coach.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Yup...our three prong approach is working. :thumb:

Sad to say, but Delaware football is dead on the current path. They need to go FBS or drop the program. This staying FCS and pretending to be a public Ivy is bullshit, especially when you have a roster full of thugs hand picked by the guy who was supposed to be Ward Beaver squeaky clean. He's proven so far that he can't pick talent, can't develop players, can't get players right academically, can't keep players out of trouble off the field or now even in the locker room, and worst of all can't coach on game day worth a shit. The program is in shambles.

Oh to yearn for the glory days of a now faded program.

I can't get too upset with the Harrison thing - this is a 4 or 5 win team. Unfortunately the guy Harrison clocked - Malcolm Brown is probably our top returning corner & he's now nursing a severe concussion the grapevine is saying so who knows how long he's out for.

Better luck in 2016 or 17.

So Brock has proven to be a crock. Who's up next? I have no desire to visit GoHens. That site is a dumpster fire.

EDIT: OK, so I did just go visit GoHens. I read that the season tickets that came in on Friday have Harrison printed on the ticket for the first game (Jacksonville). Oh the irony!

That they do....

I'm retiring from GoHens myself soon.

That would have been better. Only one player would have been lost, and some lippy bitch would have also learned her place.

Better yet...the picture on the ticket has Harrinson on it, and under his name it says, "HISTORY".

GoHens is a shit hole these days. :ohno:

A tight knit gaggle of school girls control everyone's posts. You can't say a single negative word, even a true observation, about the Hens (unless, of course, you are in the tight crowd and want to smack KCK...but don't dare smack Tubby) without having the post deleted.

Utter nonsense....except the fun of getting under some of those clown's skins.

There is a reason the other Blue Hen site failed miserably and closed (and the third one still has zero visitors) GoHens is going that way. :ohno:

Oh well...just came out Malcolm Brown, the guy that was hit by Harrison, broke a jaw. Sound familiar(cough Geno Smith). So I hope he hasn't used a redshirt year b/c he's out.

And another WR Troy Gallen - out for the season (again) missed most of last year too & redshirted.

Is this where I get to say "I told you so" when I gave up going to games and quit GoHens like four years ago? 8-)

Well if they wanted to lower expectations they've done it - I've never felt less confident before starting a season - ever.

Nah, it's still fun seeing Henzone and HG (Koli) try to bend over backwards and claim that everything is great because KC is no longer there. I think they even blame the Harrison thing on the fact that he was a KC recruit (KC never coached him, but he was on the board of recruits when KC left). Dwindling attendance (last year around 15k although the real number was closer to 12k), zero interest, and the longest turnaround performance since the Sixers and UD football is closer to the dumpster than anything else. I agree, either drop football or go FBS - it can't continue this way and I don't want to see them go DII.

Haha, yea he's on his 3rd or 4th screen name, but most of the people have him on ignore - the only time you can read his stuff is when someone quotes him. Just an internet troll.

93, BHBK, Cluck, Gannon, It just amazes me that the group at Go Hens is blindly accepting a coach who claims he needs four years to "rebuild" all facets of a program that, two years prior to his arrival, was in the NC game. This coach, by the way, had 9 positions from 2002 -2013 and brought a record of 53 & 80 with him. Of course he needs four years, his wife and kids have moved 6 times and he has probably been threatened with an Elain Bobbitt if they move again. He truly is a snake oil salesmen. ATTACK my butt.

I too have pretty much gone silent at Go Hens. One would think we hired Saben to coach a team coming off the death penalty. I still go to a few games a year but dropped my six season tickets and quit donating when Brock was hired. It just is not worth a four hour round trip to see a team that the coach declares is a work in progress.
