Let me preface this with, I've never once gambled in my life. Maybe once at a blackjack table on a cruise ship, I don't remember. Anyway, do any of you place bets online for sporting events? I'm curious about it, trying to understand the spreads, lines, etc... Maybe i'll get the guts to place a $25, but I'm really just interested in anyone's experience.

I haven't. I just don't want my cc# out there with that type of website (probably safer than Target but still  ). I'll stick to losing half a paycheck at Caesars each time I go to Vegas.

Check with bluehenbillk. I know he has stolen some money from the offshore houses that offer FCS wagers.

On a side note, I am impressed with you. You're looking at gambling. You'll be on to hookers and blow in no time. It's all a lot of fun. :thumb:

Ha ha. Well, I started mystery shopping and i've made a few hundred dollars so I may take a bit of that and just see what happens. It's been a smart strategy. In the past month I've taken my wife out to expensive dinners, gone to the movies, had an oil change and tire rotation. I've been reimbursed the day after plus paid for my 10 minute, shitty reviews. :thumb:

I saw a website, bovado(?) that has NCAA wagers. I think I saw they have SDSU to beat Kansas.

5dimes is the FCS house that most of us watch.

Go here and click on the "College Extra" box for their FCS lines: http://www.5dimes.eu/livelines/livelines.aspx

There are some real bargains to be had because their expertise on FCS is lower.

Like Montana only giving 7 1/2 to CP SLO.

I'd take Montana all day right there.

CP is a good team, and they absolutely gashed our defense last year. Could be another barn burner.

Where have you done your mystery shopping through? It's something I've thought about but haven't pursued enough.

I don't. I will play if I am in Vegas or someplace fun. Otherwise, the standard bet with friends is a buck and a beer.

Luckily grizza is on the ISU bandwagon, so there's room for you on ours. :thumb:

I didn't bet on that, thankfully.

The NFL line that is calling my name right now is Eagles -3 at Falcons. The Eagles are on the verge of Chip Kelly's breakout season so long as Bradford stays healthy. And he's very healthy right now.

Other week one NFL opening line attractive bets:
Colts -2.5 over Bills
Jets -2.5 over Browns
Bengals -3 over Raiders

That's a mean 4-team parlay right there boys. Thank me two Tuesdays from now. I might go see if the lines are the same at Dover Downs, but their odds are normally a half point worse which makes it pointless.

Anyone tried Draft Kimgs or the other fantasy sites? I'm mildly interested.

Couple years ago I had a 5Dimes account and made a bunch of money on Griz games. Then lost it all at the 5Dimes blackjack room.

Fuckers.

What do you guys do about the taxman? That's another one of my hangups with the offshore houses. I am told you could go a lifetime without the IRS knowing, so long as you don't get audited. But, the minute you get audited, they will find the payouts and you will pay the price.
