The Citadel finds itself at 5-0 in the SoCon, while VMI wallows in the bottom with Samford and Mercer.

Yeah, I don't see my Keydets pulling this one off, especially on the road.

VMI got to see what the triple-option was like last Saturday against Wofford - and we fared poorly against it, giving up over 400+ yards on the ground.

I expect to see much of the same this week - El Cid will have a field day on the ground against our battered defense (which still hasn't had a bye week). VMI will keep it close but Citadel pulls away in the end, 34-17.

What's all this about "wallowing in (sic) the bottom"? :?

Kind of astonishing that you couldn't defend the T.O., given your HC's history.

If we don't sustain drives Cobb will punish us. Keeping him off the field is better than having a black flag defense.

I don't know...Cobb has been picked off 18 times already this year, and with The Citadel having three of the league's leading INT guys (Delaney (who I consider the best corner in the SoCon, BTW), Copeland, and Floyd), I don't anticipate we will be scoring much.

Dee is definitely one of the big pleasant surprises this year (and we have several) and I sure HOPE we can continue with our picky-sacky ways

but this game is a huge trap for us- frankly if we come out with a loss it wouldnt exactly be the shot heard round the world because Cobb is in fact the best QB in the SoCon not named Huesman and he can definitely chuck the ball all over the place

I could see this being a tough one for The Citadel. VMI is much better than its record indicates, and if Cobb can just limit some of the turnovers, VMI has a legitimate shot. I'll still take The Citadel, though.

Citadel leading 26-14, early 4th Q.

Cobb, by the way, was declared out w/ an injury prior to kickoff. Not sure what it is.

Keydets had a 59-yd fumble recovery that set up their second TD. Citadel K Goins is 4-4 on FGs.

Second pick-six of the game will seal the deal. Citadel wins 36-14.

Backup QB Alford: 14-35, 125 yds, 1 TD, 4 picks. Might have been a different story had Cobb played, though I still don't think we would have won.

Cam Jackson: 12 carries for 100 yds, TD. Citadel rushed for 326 yds, and only scored one offensive touchdown.
