Thanks. I was a little surprised at Richmond jumping up there. But whatever.
How you guys feeling about Citadel? Their run game is a beast. And CCUs coaches had better start running more with Abercrombie and- what's the other guy from Summerville, Henderson right??

I couldn't be happier with our slot at 8th. And we host the Coastal/Citadel winner. What an awesome series this will be between SCs 3 FCS teams on the coast!

MVFC will have to beat each other up to win the title as they could be the first conference to go undefeated in the playoffs. Five games vs others and four elimination games. Montana and Portland St are the only teams I could see winning vs a MVFC team.
Way to much regional match ups going on. Would love to see them mix it up more with the East and West teams. Way too many potential conference rematches this year.

Eh. I have no clue. Last year, our defense was on point and we stopped them. We beat them in the air. This year, who knows. Abercrombie, our best player, never had the ball on Thursday. Hopefully our coaches remove their heads from their asses and play them.
And yes, Henderson is from Summerville. The dude is a beast. But he can't do it along.

I like that they separated the Big Sky schools and I think all could make some noise. Portland State and Southern Utah both have had solid seasons, and Montana is peaking at the right time. It would have been totally wrong to put UM/SUU in the first round, with the winner going to PSU.

I watched the Coastal / Liberty game. Rooted for LU for selfish CSU playoff reasons. But I was dumbfounded about the CCU staff decisions to not run Abercrombie.
I know this...whether it's CCU or Citadel....the old truth is its hard to beat a team twice in the same season. We will have our hands full whichever it is.

WIU took 3rd place in the MVFC, beating playoff teams UNI and SDSU. Also beat playoff team EIU in the first game of the season. Tougher schedule, Illinois, EIU and CCU non-conference, no Missouri St game in conference schedule. EIU surprised me over UND.

But, still… 6-5? Two of those losses were quite lopsided, too, making your argument a little weaker (yes, I know UND had some bad losses, too). Both teams had maybe equivalent resumes, but they oddly went with 6-5 over 7-4.
I actually thought UND should be ahead of WIU, EIU, and UNH, as well as anyone that didn't get in.

Good wins UND: Wyoming FBS & PSU, losses NDSU, Montana, and bad ones to Idaho St and Weber St.
WIU: EIU, SDSU and UNI, lost to CCU, Illinois, NDSU ISUR and 1 bad loss to a good Youngstown team.

I wouldn't say the loss to Weber was a bad one, Weber did win in Missoula and didn't really have any bad losses. Weber was a better team than a lot of people give them credit, they were a missed field goal away from a 2nd place BSC finish and an at large playoff bid

Kinda by that standard....Liberty went 6-5 with an FBS win a win over Montana, and win over Coastal in the final. Good losses to West Virginia, Charleston Southern. Bad ones to GWU and Monmouth. Liberty could argue as much as other 6-5 teams.

I guess I meant the Weber St loss was bad because they were not a playoff team. YSU was also decent, but didn't make the playoffs UND lost to 2 non-playoff teams, WIU 1 loss to a non-payoff team. EIU didn't have a win over a playoff team.

Strength of Schedule hurt McNeese. 1 win over a playoff team.

Right. And they wouldn't have gone undefeated if the LSU game hadn't been canceled.

And zero losses to non playoff teams like NDSU had. If not 2nd, would have at least flipped McNeese & NDSU and put them 3rd..
Heck, I'm glad the committee did it the way they did. UNH has been very good at home, terrible on the road (were thumped by SJSU, SBU, W&M, UD). If JMU can get by them I think have 60/40 chance of hosting in the qtrfinals vs SHSU or SUU- I wouldn't be surprised to see either upset McNeese.

I agree about the Citadel.
Their 3 losses were to FBS Georgia Southern (who just took Georgia to overtime), #8 seed Charleston Southern , and top 10 Chattanooga who they're Co SoCon champs with. 0 bad losses. Huge win over SEC team. Good wins over all the SoCon teams except UTC.
In hindsight....that September 26th Citadel vs Charleston Southern game ended up as one of the best non conference matchups in all of FCS....even better than NDSU vs Montana maybe.

Am I alone in thinking that it seems wrong that the Big Sky outright champ is the only one who didn't get rewarded for what they accomplished?

Probably not but I didn't think going into it that them beating LSU was impossible and I think watching LSU over the past three weeks kind of vindicates the way I was thinking. LSU went into that game with an unproven quarterback as part of an unproven passing game. I felt like McNeese could take that tac they took against Nebraska last year and sell out to stop the run and if they got beat with the passing attack they got beat. I felt like LSU was going to be roughly equivalent to 2014 Nebraska going into the season while McNeese was going to be better than 2014 McNeese, particularly on the defensive front with some very good defensive tackles with size.

As noted by Kalm that's probably because they got out bid.
